💎 PITCHING COACH
Top Tier
Jacob Misiorowski (MIL) | vs NYY
Although the Yankees are a high octane offense, that isn't stopping the sportsbooks from listing Jacob Misiorowski's strikeouts at 7.5, which is tied for the slate-high. Misiorowski has had seven or more strikeouts in six of his last seven games. That's why we're playing him.
Dylan Cease (TOR) | vs LAA
Nobody strikes out more than the Angels against right-handed pitching. Their K-rate currently sits at 26% and that's 1.4% higher than any other team in the MLB. The Angels are 19th or worst in OPS, wOBA and wRC+ against right-handed pitching this year.
Max Fried (NYY) | vs MIL
Max Fried's been one of the best pitchers in the league and one of the more consistent arms in the league. He's notched 20+ FP in five of eight starts and has nearly 40 FP upside. The Brewers are statistically the third worst offense in baseball vs. LHP. It's worth noting that Jackson Chourio and Andrew Vaughn just got back, so they should be better.
Value Plays
Emerson Hancock (SEA) | vs CWS
There is obvious risk because the White Sox hit home runs, but they rate out really poorly against right-handed pitching. The White Sox are 25th in wOBA, OPS, and wRC+ against righties and have the second-highest K-rate at 24.6%. Hancock's up to 9.9 K/9 and has a 2.54 ERA, 2.87 xFIP, and 2.77 SIERA.
Kris Bubic (KC) | vs DET
The Tigers are falling off a cliff offensively against left-handed pitching as they're now down to 19th in OPS and Bubic had a high ceiling in the strikeout department. He's also had 11 strikeouts in a game this year.
Parker Messick (CLE) | vs MIN
Although Minnesota is 12th in wRC+ against left-handed pitching, they have a 99 wRC+ as a team, which is worse than league average. Messick has a 28.2% K-rate and 2.4 ERA on the year.
Carmen Mlodzinski (PIT) | vs SF
There have been no worse offenses in the league against right-handed pitching than the Giants. They're 30th in OPS, wOBA, and wRC+ and are only walking 5.1% of the time. This is an elite ballpark to pitch in and Mlodzinski has an elite K-rate. He's an elite strikeout arm.
💎 HITTING COACH
Elite Bats
Juan Soto (OF, NYM) | vs ARI
Ryne Nelson has been crushed by left-handed bats and things could potentially get worse. Nelson's allowed a .273 ISO, .355 xISO, .338 wOBA, .422 xwOBA and yet, a .220 BABIP. Soto has a .245 ISO, .338 xISO, .458 wOBA, and .466 xwOBA vs. RHP this year.
Shea Langeliers & Brent Rooker (C/OF, ATH) | vs BAL
Kyle Bradish has been massacred by righties and isn't missing any bats. Righties have a .188 ISO, .231 xISO, .460 wOBA, and .393 xwOBA. Langeliers has a .303 ISO and .337 wOBA while Rooker has a .185 ISO and .214 xISO against righties this year.
Junior Caminero (3B, TB) | vs BOS
All of Connelly Early's underlying numbers against righties look bad. That's not a great thing when it's coming into a matchup against Junior Caminero and his .200 ISO, .207 xISO, .371 wOBA, and .409 xwOBA.
Pete Alonso, (1B, BAL) | vs ATH
This is a sleeping giant if you look at everything Pete Alonso, a breakout is coming. He's hit 4 HR and is slashing .314/.415/.771 over his last 10 games and has a .214 xISO against left-handed pitching.
Value Bats (Salary Savers)
- Michael Harris (OF, ATL): Emmet Sheehan has been BAD vs. LHH allowing a .356 ISO, .264 xISO, .417 wOBA, and .368 xwOBA. Harris has a .247 ISO, .383 xISO, .393 wOBA, and .469 xwOBA vs. RHP.
- Jacob Wilson (SS, ATH): Wilson is riding an 11-game hitting streak and is starting to really heat up hitting .325 over his last 10 games.
- Tyler O'Neill (OF, BAL): O'Neill has a .200 ISO or better against lefties from 2022-2025 and .179 or higher in every year since 2021.
- Zack Gelof (OF, ATH): We're looking for power and that's what Gelof can do. He's hit a few home runs lately and has a .276 ISO vs. RHP this year.
