2023 Player Outlook

2023 Recap: Busch is a big-time power hitter who was blocked in Los Angeles, which is why we hardly saw him in the big leagues. Last year at Triple-A, he hit .323 with a .431 OBP and .295 ISO, not to mention 27 home runs and 26 doubles. 

2024 Outlook: With a change of scenery, and a path to regular at-bats, we should see the best version of Busch in 2024, especially at Wrigley Field. The Cubs will likely protect him against lefties a bit, but that still puts him on the larger side of a first base platoon, meaning there will be plenty of ABs for Busch to put his offensive skillset on display. He should finally be able to establish a rhythm, which bodes well, and his plate discipline is better than what he showed in the handful of games he played with the Dodgers last season. The power is real, it's a great home field, and I'm more bullish on Busch than the projection systems are. Busch could easily hit .245+ with 20+ home runs this year, and I wouldn't be surprised.
