The Edmonton Oilers have signed Kyle Turris to a two-year, $3.3 million contract.

Turris became a restricted free agent after Nashville bought out the final four seasons of his six-year, $36 million contract. Although he didn't live up to the Predators expectations, he could prove to be a good player for the Oilers, especially given his substantially reduced cap hit. He'll likely either serve as the Oilers' third-line center or a top-six forward on the wing. Having him shift to the wing would certainly do more for his fantasy value as it would open the door to him playing alongside Connor McDavid and/or Leon Draisaitl, but the Oilers were hurting for depth last season and having Turris anchor their third line would help address that. Turris scored nine goals and 31 points in 62 contests last season, but at his height, Turris exceeded the 50-point milestone in four of five seasons from 2013-14 through 2017-18.
