The Washington Capitals have signed defenseman Justin Schultz to a two-year deal worth $8 million.
Schultz will get $3 million in 2020-21 and $5 million the following year. The injury-prone defenseman has missed plenty of action over last two seasons with Pittsburgh, missing 53 games in 2018-19 with a broken ankle and another 24 last season with a lower-body injury. He had only three goals and 12 points in 46 games last season but had 51 points in 78 games in 2016-17. Look for 30-35 points next season in a full year, but that may be doubtful due to the possible loss of games in the schedule as well as his injury problems. Oct 09 3:56 pm (EST)
