The Pittsburgh Penguins have signed defenseman John Marino to a six-year/$26.4 million extension.
Marino played his first season in the NHL in 2019-20 after completing three seasons at Harvard. He had six goals and 26 points in 56 games last season and missed just over three weeks as he took a puck to the face against Tampa Bay and needed facial surgery. He had an assist in four post-season games as Pittsburgh was eliminated by Montreal in the play-in round and is considered a building block by the Penguins on their blueline. Look for 25-30 points this season for the top-four defenseman. Jan 03 10:08 am (EST)
