Connor Brown and the Ottawa Senators have agreed to a three-year, $10.8 million contract.
Brown and the Senators have managed to successfully avoid an arbitration hearing that would have taken place today. Brown requested a one-year, $4.8 million salary in arbitration while the Senators were asking that he be paid $2.25 million. In the end, his cap hit will be $3.6 million. Brown scored 16 goals and 43 points in 71 contests while averaging 20:07 minutes last season. He set a career-high in points, but that's not surprising given that Ottawa gave him top line minutes while his former team, the Toronto Maple Leafs, viewed Brown as a member of the supporting cast. He averaged just 13:48 minutes with Toronto in 2018-19, but still managed to score a respectable eight goals and 29 points in that limited role. Oct 22 10:31 am (EST)
