2025 Season Recap
Michael Penix Jr. was playing well before his ACL gave out in Week 11 of 2025. His interception rate was the lowest in the NFL among qualified starters; he showed real poise and accuracy in the pocket, and the Falcons offense was starting to click. The knee injury was devastating timing for a player who finally had his chance.
2026 Fantasy Outlook
Penix is the consensus QB33 and the situation is complicated right now. He has not been cleared for 11-on-11 work as of mandatory minicamp and Tua Tagovailoa is getting all the first-team reps. The expectation is that Penix will be ready for full team drills when training camp opens in late July, at which point the real competition starts. If he wins the job, the upside is significant. Atlanta's weapons are elite and Penix showed before the injury that he can operate efficiently in a functional offense. A full healthy season projects well above his current price. High risk, high reward. Deep leagues only until training camp clarity arrives.
