Franchy Cordero launched a solo homer on Saturday in the Padres’ loss to a Diamondbacks’ split-squad in Cactus League action.

Cordero tattooed a solo homer to right-center field -- his first long ball of the spring -- off Diamondbacks’ closer Archie Bradley in the fifth inning of this one. It was his only hit in three at-bats. The 25-year-old outfielder possesses an intriguing blend of power and speed, which makes him one of the most exciting late-round lottery tickets out there in deeper mixed leagues. He’s battling for the everyday job in right field, but would make sense as a natural platoon partner for veteran lefty-masher Wil Myers. He’s gotten off to an ice-cold start at the plate this spring, but is starting to heat up. Keep him on your fantasy radar, especially in NL-only formats. Mar 07 6:57 pm (EST)
