NFL DFS Week 2 Watch List & Top Picks
When looking at the general overview for the NFL Week 2 DFS Sunday main slate, there are several tantalizing matchups that will dictate our NFL DFS Week 2 picks. The massive 59-point outburst by the Chicago Bears against the Panthers in Week 1 has DFS players chasing upside, while the Ravens' 41-point showing against the Colts keeps their offense firmly on the NFL DFS Week 2 Watch List.
The Week 2 slate features massive potential shootouts. The Houston Texans host the Cincinnati Bengals, a matchup with incredible offensive firepower on both sides. Meanwhile, the Dallas Cowboys will clash with the Washington Commanders, and the Jacksonville Jaguars head to Denver to face the Broncos. Evaluating these offensive explosions and target shares is crucial for refining your NFL DFS Week 2 picks this Sunday.
Recapping the Previous Week
Before fully turning our attention to Week 2, we have to look back at the optimal lineups from the Fantasy Alarm DFS Week 1 Playbook. If you look at the image below, the results were incredibly lucrative for those who followed the projections.

The DraftKings optimal lineup generated a massive 263.30 projected points while only using $49,700 of the salary cap. Tyler Shough anchored the team at QB ($5,600) with 29.20 points. The lineup leveraged a monster game from running back Jahmyr Gibbs ($8,700) for 37.60 points and a massive breakout from Jalen Coker ($4,600) for 36.80 points. Justin Jefferson ($7,300) and Chris Olave ($6,700) also delivered elite wide receiver production, each hitting exactly 31.20 points.
Over on the FanDuel side, the optimal lineup posted 233.10 projected points using $59,500 of the $60,000 cap. Shough ($6,900) again led the charge, while D'Andre Swift ($6,600) stepped into the RB2 slot and delivered 31.90 points. Jalen Coker ($5,400) remained a core play on FanDuel, securing 29.80 points, and Dallas Goedert ($5,300) dominated the tight end spot with 21.70 points.
Reviewing these builds reinforces our beliefs heading into the week, for the most part. There will always be surprises. But overall, one thing is clear about this past week – finding value at the quarterback position and hitting on mid-tier receivers is how you take down GPPs.
Best DraftKings DFS Picks for Week 2
Remember, this is just a first glance at some of the top NFL DFS Week 2 Picks. Because this article comes out on a Tuesday, most people are still very reactionary to what they witnessed over the weekend and on Monday Night Football. For this week, though, we get a little bit less reactionary noise than the season opener. You’ll still hear some wild narratives, but just wait until next week when the saxophones grow even louder.
Quarterback
Jalen Hurts, Philadelphia Eagles ($6,700)
Jalen Hurts enjoyed a strong opening game against a porous Washington pass defense, totaling 183 passing yards and three touchdowns through the air while also adding 46 rushing yards. The famous tush-push is always an added threat for him to score a rushing touchdown at the goal line. This week, he is facing a Titans pass defense that allowed Geno Smith to throw for 215 yards while posting a 104.0 passer rating against them last Sunday.
Dak Prescott, Dallas Cowboys ($6,400)
Dak Prescott is in a prime spot facing the Washington Commanders, who just allowed 182 passing yards and three touchdowns to Jalen Hurts, enabling him to post a 122.2 passer rating. Prescott's timing will undoubtedly be significantly better this week with CeeDee Lamb and George Pickens, as both receivers are facing incredibly weak coverage from the vulnerable Washington cornerbacks.
Baker Mayfield, Tampa Bay Buccaneers ($5,600)
You should let everyone else overreact to Baker Mayfield’s poor game against the Bengals because it means we will get him at much lower ownership. He is facing a Browns defense that just got completely decimated by Trevor Lawrence, who was allowed to throw for 234 passing yards with four touchdowns, ultimately posting a league-high 150.6 passer rating against Cleveland. Mayfield's weaponry remains first-rate with elite receivers like Emeka Egbuka and Chris Godwin, along with dependable tight end Cade Otton.
Running Back
Christian McCaffrey, San Francisco 49ers ($8,000)
Typically, featuring Christian McCaffrey just serves as a quick reminder that you will have to make room for his hefty salary. However, after failing to score a touchdown last week, he is surprisingly only the second-highest priced running back on the main slate. The Dolphins defense just surrendered 102 rushing yards, 45 receiving yards, and two touchdowns to Ashton Jeanty in Week 1, suggesting McCaffrey is going to do some significant damage against them this week.
Derrick Henry, Baltimore Ravens ($7,200)
Declan Doyle's offensive scheme does wondrous things for Derrick Henry, particularly in the outside-zone where the big back is tremendously effective. He was able to rumble for 144 yards and three touchdowns last week against the Colts, proving that he is aging like a fine wine. We are going to continue using him, especially if his price point remains this low, considering the Saints run defense allowed a whopping 165 rushing yards and two rushing touchdowns just last week.
Javonte Williams, Dallas Cowboys ($6,400)
While his statistical totals from last week weren't loaded up with massive yardage, Javonte Williams still finished Week 1 against the Giants with 72 all-purpose yards and two touchdowns. He actually would have had a third score, but one got called back due to a penalty, and the team threw it to CeeDee Lamb on the next play instead. This week, he faces a forgiving Commanders run defense that just allowed 136 rushing yards with a generous 5.4 yards per carry average.
Wide Receiver
Ja'Marr Chase, Cincinnati Bengals ($7,600)
We are going right back to the well this week because there is simply no way Ja'Marr Chase is going to be held in check for two weeks in a row. He is far too talented, and we knew coming in that Joe Burrow routinely starts the season off slowly. The usually formidable Texans defense just allowed over 300 receiving yards in their opener, with both wide receiver DJ Moore and tight end Dalton Kincaid finishing the day with 100 yards or more.
Chris Olave, New Orleans Saints ($7,200)
As long as Tyler Shough is under center and the Saints defense keeps allowing points to be scored on them, we will continue to utilize Chris Olave, who should once again see double-digit targets. In fact, Olave impressively racked up 182 yards on 10 catches during his last outing. If he is going to see this type of elite volume, he will easily exploit a Ravens defense that just allowed 166 yards to the Colts pass-catchers.
Garrett Wilson, New York Jets ($6,000)
While you have to take playing Tennessee in Week 1 with a grain of salt, Garrett Wilson pops up as a massive value in my model this week as he faces a Packers defense that allowed 151 receiving yards and three receiving touchdowns to Carson Wentz and the Vikings. With key defensive personnel out injured, the Packers are going to struggle in coverage, especially when trying to lock down the opposing top receiver. Wilson might not be Justin Jefferson, but against this vulnerable Green Bay secondary, he certainly can be.
Tight End
Trey McBride, Arizona Cardinals ($6,900)
The second-highest-priced tight end last week officially becomes your most expensive option this week after he shook off the coverage from Derwin James and finished with nine catches on 13 targets for 95 yards and a touchdown. Quarterback Jacoby Brissett continues to have Trey McBride completely locked into his sights during every game. This week, he faces a Seattle squad that has a good secondary but, for whatever reason, continues to struggle heavily against the tight end position. Safety Julian Love alone gave up four catches for 28 yards and a touchdown to the Patriots’ tight ends last week.
Colston Loveland, Chicago Bears ($5,000)
We generally don’t love paying a $5,000 price tag, but after putting up zero fantasy points last week, very few people are going to roster Colston Loveland this week, which is exactly where we gain our tournament leverage. Loveland will undoubtedly see more work in this matchup and is in a great spot against a Vikings defense that just allowed Tucker Kraft and Jonnu Smith to combine for five catches for 115 yards. Defensive coordinator Brian Flores is going to have a very tough time scheming against this potent Bears offense, meaning there will be plenty of holes available, particularly across the middle of the field.
Harold Fannin, Cleveland Browns ($4,100)
The Browns clearly have a lot of work ahead of them, and it should start with how Deshaun Watson needs to lean a little more on his tight end to move the chains. Harold Fannin saw just three targets all last week, and that minimal usage should change significantly against the Buccaneers this week. When facing the Bengals—a team that doesn’t typically lean on their tight end—the Browns defense allowed Mike Gesicki, Drew Sample, and Tanner Hudson to combine for nine catches, 101 yards, and a touchdown. If Watson just shifts a little more focus Fannin’s way, this should be a highly productive game for the young tight end.
Best FanDuel DFS Picks for Week 2
When building your lineups, it is crucial to look for price disparities between DraftKings and FanDuel directly related to their distinct scoring systems. The half-point PPR format on FanDuel inherently gives more value to using a running back in your flex position, as touchdowns and rushing yards carry heavier weight. Conversely, the full-point PPR scoring on DraftKings places a premium on reliable chain-movers like Wan’Dale Robinson or Khalil Shakir—players who derive a significant portion of their fantasy value purely from heavy target volume and consistent catches.
Other players to consider for your NFL Week 2 DFS lineups include:
Quarterback
Justin Herbert, Los Angeles Chargers ($7,400)
Justin Herbert is currently priced down because of a terrible Week 1 performance, but if you understand Mike McDaniel’s offensive system and know the Chargers are vastly superior to the Dolphins squad the Raiders played last week, you are probably more than willing to take the massive discount. Herbert remains a high-level passer with strong weapons, and he also adds valuable rushing upside to his weekly profile. We are still waiting to see about Ladd McConkey’s injury status for Week 2, but between his remaining wide receivers, tight ends, and capable pass-catching running backs, Herbert is more than worth a look.
Running Back
Bijan Robinson, Atlanta Falcons ($8,900)
With their quarterback situation currently in shambles, the Falcons absolutely need to lean on Bijan Robinson as much as possible. He is an elite-level runner who possesses the strength to grind between the tackles, the breakaway speed to take it to the outside, and the ability to catch passes with the very best receivers in the league. Yards after contact are his true specialty, which bodes well since the Panthers run defense got completely shredded last week, allowing an astonishing 291 rushing yards and six rushing touchdowns to the Bears.
Wide Receiver
Nico Collins, Houston Texans ($7,800)
Seeing Nico Collins priced down in this tier is absolutely criminal, regardless of how many improvements you think the Bengals defense might have made over the offseason. Collins is an absolute beast on the perimeter and consistently dominates whenever he faces man coverage. If this matchup carries any sort of shootout vibes—much like everyone expected in the recent Bengals and Bucs game—then Collins is going to see a ton of high-value work downfield.
Tight End
Brenton Strange, Jacksonville Jaguars ($5,100)
While I certainly don’t expect Brenton Strange to catch a touchdown every single week, the fact that Brian Thomas is banged up means the tight end will be relied upon heavily. Because the Denver defense can be quite soft in the middle of the field, Strange should easily be able to pick up a solid handful of catches and some decent yardage. In Week 1, the Broncos allowed Travis Kelce to catch three passes for 71 yards, which included a massive 59-yard catch-and-run. If Strange can get even a fraction of similar opportunities, he should pay off his modest salary with ease.
DFS Value Plays & Sleepers to Target in Week 2
Tyler Shough, QB New Orleans Saints
If Tyler Shough is going to throw the ball 40 to 50 times per game, we are definitely going to keep investing in him for fantasy purposes. He threw for well over 400 yards last week and now faces a high-powered Ravens team that is extremely likely to run up the score, which will ultimately put Shough on his heels and force him into a pass-heavy game script. Everyone loves a good spend-down option at the quarterback position, and he fits the bill perfectly.
Tyjae Spears, RB Tennessee Titans
This recommendation is all about projecting the game flow, which is exactly why Tyjae Spears played a robust 50-percent snap share in Week 1 against the Jets. When the Titans are forced into catch-up mode—and they almost certainly will be when they host the talented Eagles this week—Spears is the back who gets the call. I fully expect the coaching staff to work on designed screens and create more creative opportunities to get Spears the ball late in the game when they are trailing.
Rashod Bateman, WR Baltimore Ravens
With Zay Flowers nursing a lingering hamstring injury and Ja’Kobi Lane suffering a fractured wrist, Rashod Bateman’s snap share and overall targets naturally increased. Now, heading into this week with the very real potential of both receivers being ruled out, Bateman should see a significant increase in both snaps and targets as he serves as the team’s unquestioned starting X-receiver. While Elijah Sarratt will undoubtedly get some work mixed in, it should ultimately be Bateman who gets the most attention for fantasy lineups.
Darren Waller, TE Carolina Panthers
While he is certainly not my favorite guy to roster, Darren Waller actually would have had a touchdown last week—exactly as predicted by Andrew Cooper—had there not been a frustrating penalty that called the play back. Waller may not play a massive snap share or see a huge bunch of targets between the 20s, but he remains a master of end zone looks. He is going to continue being a highly reliable target for Bryce Young whenever the Panthers get close to the goal line.
NFL DFS Strategy Tips for Week 2
Following a 2026 Week 1 that tied the NFL record for the most points scored on an opening weekend, it is time to recalibrate. Nailing the right roster construction requires locking in the best NFL DFS Week 2 picks while analyzing pricing inefficiencies. This article will help you curate your NFL DFS Week 2 Watch List to maximize your chances of taking down tournaments.
Exploit Soft Salaries Created by Poor Week 1 Performances
When crafting your NFL DFS Week 2 picks, look for price tags that overreact to a single bad game. Conversely, target matchups against defenses that collapsed.
- The Target: The Carolina Panthers surrendered a franchise-record 59 points to the Chicago Bears in Week 1.
- The Strategy: Targeting the Atlanta Falcons offense against Carolina in Week 2 should be a priority on your NFL DFS Week 2 Watch List.
Don't let recency bias scare you away from talented players who had a quiet opener; their suppressed salaries open up valuable salary cap space for superstars.
Target Inefficient Game Stacks Over Single-Player Focus
With the league racking up 791 combined points in Week 1, offense is firing on all cylinders. When finalizing your NFL DFS Week 2 picks, prioritize game stacks rather than chasing one-off players.
- The Target: A prime environment for stacking is the Detroit Lions and Buffalo Bills matchup.
- The Strategy: Bills quarterback Josh Allen is coming off a massive 334-yard performance and is an essential cornerstone for your NFL DFS Week 2 Watch List.
By stacking Allen with his pass-catchers and running it back with a Lions player, you capture the correlated upside of a potential shootout.
Embrace Variance Instead of Fading All Chalk
A common mistake in tournament play is avoiding all popular players just for the sake of being contrarian. Your NFL DFS Week 2 picks should still include high-owned "chalk" if the volume justifies it.
- The Target: Baltimore Ravens running back Derrick Henry looked unstoppable, plunging for three touchdowns in Week 1 to move to third on the all-time rushing touchdown list.
- The Strategy: He will undoubtedly be a chalky selection, but instead of fading him entirely on your NFL DFS Week 2 Watch List, embrace the variance by differentiating your lineup at other, more volatile positions.
Prioritize Floor at Running Back, Ceiling at Receiver
Running back volume is the most predictable metric in fantasy football. Lock in players with guaranteed workloads to establish a high floor for your NFL DFS Week 2 picks.
- The Target: Kenneth Walker is a prime example after dominating with 191 scrimmage yards in his Kansas City Chiefs debut.
- The Strategy: For wide receivers, you want slate-breaking upside, so players like DJ Moore, who immediately commanded 100 receiving yards in his first game for the Bills, belong at the top of your NFL DFS Week 2 Watch List.
Leverage Positional Scarcity at Defense and Tight End
The tight end landscape remains heavily skewed toward the top. While Travis Kelce just passed Jason Witten for the second-most receiving yards by a tight end in NFL history, paying up for him isn't the only route.
- The Target (Tight End): Identifying volume-heavy mid-tier options, like Sam LaPorta who commanded eight targets in Week 1, can be a game-changer for your NFL DFS Week 2 picks.
- The Target (Defense): At defense, target units facing backup or struggling quarterbacks, making the Minnesota Vikings a team to monitor after Kyler Murray exited with a concussion and forced Carson Wentz into action.
Keeping an eye on injury reports to stream defenses against backups is a must for finalizing your NFL DFS Week 2 Watch List.
