NFL DFS Game Stacks Week 5, 2026: Best Games to Target & Stack
We've got a real shootout on the board. Lions-Cardinals is sitting at 54.5, and I'm not shy about it: that's the game I'm building around this week. The main slate is eleven games across the 1:00, 4:05, and 4:25 windows. London, Sunday night and Monday night are off it, and Kansas City and Carolina are on bye. My approach is simple. I start with how these teams have actually played through four weeks and who's actually healthy, and then I use ownership to decide which side of a game I want to be on.
Best NFL DFS Game Environments for Week 5
Lions-Cardinals is the headline at 54.5, and the next best number is 49ers-Seahawks at 46.5. Bears-Packers and Raiders-Patriots are tied at 45.5, Colts-Steelers is 44.5, and Giants-Commanders is 43.5. After that, it gets muddy. Broncos-Chargers, Bengals-Dolphins, and Vikings-Saints all sit at 42.5, Browns-Jets is 39.5, and Texans-Titans is dead last at 37.5. Injuries are doing a lot of the work this week. Ja'Marr Chase and Tee Higgins both sat out practice again Friday, Justin Jefferson is expected to play, and Terry McLaurin and Malik Nabers are both banged up, so you'll want to refresh news before you lock. Weather matters too, and the East is a mess. The early window has a 98% chance of rain at Colts-Steelers, 99% at Giants-Commanders, and 90% at Browns-Jets, with gusts from 17 to 25 mph. The games I actually like are clean. Bears-Packers, Raiders-Patriots, and 49ers-Seahawks are all at 10% rain or less, Bengals-Dolphins is 89 degrees with a 16% chance, Vikings-Saints is in a dome, and Lions-Cardinals has a retractable roof. Totals on the weather tracker have been sliding all week, with Bengals-Dolphins down four points from the open.
Best NFL DFS Games to Stack
Lions-Cardinals (DET -5.5, 54.5 total)
This is the game. Arizona has given up 11 passing touchdowns and 9.1 yards per attempt, both the worst marks in the league, and it's 30th in passing EPA allowed. Detroit's pass defense is dead last in defensive EPA and has given up the most yards and touchdowns to quarterbacks. Detroit is 2-2, and Arizona is 1-3, but the Lions threw for over 400 yards against Carolina last week, so I'm starting with Jared Goff and Amon-Ra St. Brown without much hesitation. The ownership gap is what sells me. Goff is around 14% on DraftKings and 19% on FanDuel, while Jacoby Brissett is at 24% on both, so I can be on the favorite's quarterback for a lot less. Jameson Williams finally had his big game last week (six catches, 102 yards), and Sam LaPorta is a popular tight end. For the bring-back, I'm looking at Trey McBride (about 36% DK, nearly 37% FD) and Michael Wilson (35% DK, 43% FD), and with Paris Johnson Jr. done for the year on Arizona's line, I'd rather have the pass catchers than Brissett himself. Jahmyr Gibbs is the most-owned player on FanDuel at nearly 45% and sits around 33% on DraftKings, so he's a pay-the-price piece. On the Arizona side, Jeremiyah Love is Questionable, and Tyler Allgeier is barely owned. Check the roof. The outdoor forecast in Glendale is ugly (80% rain, 20 mph wind, gusts to 33), but weather doesn't matter if the roof is closed. If you'd rather play Arizona as its own stack, Brissett with McBride and Wilson is the version I'd build. It's the chalkiest stack on the board at about 32% DraftKings and 35% FanDuel combined, but the volume is real. Brissett was averaging 39 attempts a game through three weeks, McBride has hit double-digit targets in every game (12 in the loss to the Giants), and Wilson had a 24.8% target share and a 42.6% air yards share through three weeks. The risk is Brissett under pressure, and that line is a problem.
49ers-Seahawks (SEA -2.5, 46.5 total)
San Francisco is 4-0 and leads the league in EPA per play and EPA per dropback. Brock Purdy has 11 touchdown passes against one interception, and he's owned at under 1% on both sites. That's the whole pitch. George Kittle has 244 receiving yards and is owned at nearly 8% on DraftKings (about 3% on FanDuel), and with Ricky Pearsall and Christian Kirk on injured reserve and Mike Evans questionable with ribs, Kittle is the one target I trust in this offense. I'm not going to pretend it's easy. Seattle is home, Nick Bosa hasn't practiced, and the Seahawks have won with defense, including that 30-23 win over the Chargers. I still want Purdy under 1% in a 4-0 offense. For the bring-back, Jaxon Smith-Njigba is third in the NFL in receiving yards (481 on 32 catches) at about 14% DraftKings and 20% FanDuel, and his Wednesday absence was rest, not injury. Emanuel Wilson is the Seattle running back comeback after 21 carries, 81 yards, and two scores with Zach Charbonnet on injured reserve, and he's around 20% on DraftKings and 16% on FanDuel. Weather isn't an issue. It's 58 degrees, no rain, and light wind in Seattle.
Bears-Packers (CHI -3, 45.5 total)
The Bears are 3-1 on their third quarterback, and they've done it by running the ball. Chicago leads the league at 196.3 rushing yards per game, and Tyson Bagent was a clean 25 of 34 for 268 against the Jets. I'm still not stacking Bagent. He got away with three would-be interceptions that penalties wiped out. The Bears backs are another story. Kyle Monangai got 30 carries last week and is now out, which hands the backfield to D'Andre Swift, who missed Wednesday with a knee and hip issue but is no longer on the injury list in my latest data. Swift is around 7% on DraftKings and 12% on FanDuel. The export also lists Caleb Williams as Questionable, but everything I've seen has him out for a few more weeks, so I'm still treating Bagent as the starter. The Packers are the other side of the story. Josh Jacobs is on the commissioner's exempt list, Jayden Reed is done for the year, and the team has the fewest rush attempts in the league, so Jordan Love is throwing it a ton to Christian Watson (20 catches, 331 yards, four touchdowns) and Matthew Golden (18 for 274). Love has been sacked 10 times, and Green Bay is 28th in scoring, but he has 13 touchdowns and two interceptions in seven games against Chicago, and he and Watson are both under 3% on DraftKings. Luther Burden is the most-owned Bear on DraftKings at about 12%. It's 72 degrees with no rain and light wind at Lambeau, so nothing holds the passing game back.
Raiders-Patriots (NE -3.5, 45.5 total)
This is my favorite matchup on the slate. Las Vegas is 3-1 after a 30-27 loss to Kansas City, where Kirk Cousins threw for 365 yards. He has 11 touchdown passes, tied with Purdy for the league lead, and he's under 1% on both sites. Now New England is without both starting corners. Christian Gonzalez and Carlton Davis are out, Karon Prunty missed Wednesday with a hamstring, and Christian Barmore was limited up front. Brock Bowers (about 12% on both sites) and Michael Mayer lead a Raiders tight end group that has been targeted a league-high 53 times, and Bowers had a 10-116 night against New Orleans in Week 3. He was limited Wednesday with his knee, so check him Sunday. Tre Tucker is the cheap secondary receiver. If you want the New England side, Drake Maye with Romeo Doubs is the stack. Maye was excellent last week (269 yards, three touchdowns, and 54 rushing yards), and Doubs caught six of nine targets for 58 yards and two scores. With A.J. Brown on injured reserve and Mack Hollins now out with a calf injury, he's the clear top option, and the field has cooled on him to about 9% on DraftKings and 7% on FanDuel. I like it as a run-back to Cousins and Bowers, because both offenses should have the ball. Rhamondre Stevenson (knee, Questionable) is the popular back at around 11% on DraftKings and 13% on FanDuel and TreVeyon Henderson is the other option. On the Las Vegas side, Ashton Jeanty is Questionable and has climbed to about 11% on both sites. The forecast is dry, 10% rain, and 7 mph wind.
Bengals-Dolphins (CIN -7, 42.5 total)
I wanted to like this one, but the receiver news killed it. Chase is in the concussion protocol and didn't practice Friday, Higgins (groin) didn't practice Friday either, and Cincinnati has a bye next week, so there's every reason to be careful. I'm treating both as unlikely until I see otherwise, and I'm not stacking this game. If one of them gets cleared, Joe Burrow is back in play. He threw for 428 yards against Jacksonville with two picks, Higgins caught 11 passes for 157 after Chase left, and Burrow is only about 4% on DraftKings and 5% on FanDuel. If both sit, Dohnte Meyers and Mike Gesicki are cheap options, and that's a dart throw, not a core. Chase Brown is the chalk here at about 28% on DraftKings and 19% on FanDuel, but he carried nine times for 10 yards last week, and the whole team ran for 10. I'm not paying for that. Miami hasn't scored more than 13 points in a game yet and lost De'Von Achane for the year, so the comeback is thin. Malik Washington is about 15% on DraftKings (9% on FanDuel), and Ollie Gordon is barely owned. It's 89 degrees with a 16% chance of rain and 9 mph wind, standard South Florida.
Vikings-Saints (MIN -1.5, 42.5 total)
Minnesota is 4-0, but let's be honest about how. The Vikings are first in defensive EPA, lead the league with 16 sacks, and allow a league-low 1.11 points per drive. The offense is the weak link, and Kyler Murray was 27 of 37 for 247 yards and no touchdowns last week. That's why I care about the matchup. The Saints are 1-3, give up 27.7 points a game and a 105.5 passer rating to quarterbacks, and just lost Monday night to Atlanta. The change is Justin Jefferson, who's expected to play. T.J. Hockenson caught all 13 of his targets for 119 yards with Jefferson out, and I don't expect that volume to repeat. The field has already moved off him, with his ownership down to about 4% on DraftKings and 5% on FanDuel. Jordan Addison (hamstring, Questionable) has jumped to roughly 21% on DraftKings and 19% on FanDuel. I've moved my stack to Murray and Jefferson, with Hockenson as a cheap secondary piece. My latest export still shows Jefferson at zero, so expect that number to jump once the model catches up. Aaron Jones (22% DK, 32% FD) is the popular back with Jordan Mason on injured reserve, and the Saints comeback is Chris Olave, second in the league with 491 receiving yards. It's a dome, so weather isn't part of the call.

Best Contrarian NFL DFS Stacks
Low ownership alone doesn't get a stack on this list. I want a matchup or a reason to believe in the form.
- Packers stack: Jordan Love and Christian Watson, with Matthew Golden or Tucker Kraft as the secondary piece. Love has been excellent against Chicago (13 touchdowns, two interceptions in seven games), Green Bay has almost no run game to lean on, and Watson leads the team with 331 yards. Both are under 3% on DraftKings. I'll be honest about the risk. The Packers are missing a bunch of starters, and the Bears defense has been good, so this is one lineup for me, not a core.
- Texans stack: C.J. Stroud and Nico Collins. Yes, it's the lowest total on the board at 37.5, but Houston's offense isn't the problem. It put up 397 yards and 7.6 yards per play against Dallas with eight plays of 20-plus yards, and now it's a 7.5-point favorite against a Tennessee team that's also 0-4. Stroud is around 3% on DraftKings and 5% on FanDuel. Collins is the chalkier piece at about 7% on DraftKings and 18% on FanDuel, and Tank Dell is listed out. There's a 30% chance of rain that models show clearing before kickoff, with gusts to 17, so give it a look Sunday morning, but it's not a reason to bail.
NFL DFS Games to Fade
- Colts-Steelers (44.5 total, PIT -2.5): I came into the week ready to like Aaron Rodgers and DK Metcalf here, and the forecast talked me out of it. It's a 98% chance of rain at kickoff and 80% through the afternoon, with 12 mph wind and gusts to 21, and Rodgers has already been sacked 13 times. Michael Pittman is out too. Jonathan Taylor is the only piece I'd want, and he's chalk at about 17% on DraftKings and 20% on FanDuel.
- Giants-Commanders (43.5 total, WSH -3.5): 99% rain, 13 mph wind and gusts to 25, and both offenses are banged up. Jayden Daniels is expected back from his elbow, but Terry McLaurin missed Wednesday, Stefon Diggs is out, and Washington scored 13 points last week. The Giants have won two straight, but they're 28th in pass attempts, Malik Nabers (knee) didn't practice Wednesday, and Cam Skattebo is in a red non-contact jersey. I don't see a stack here.
- Broncos-Chargers (42.5 total, DEN -3.5): Denver scored 14 against San Francisco and loses Pat Bryant for a few weeks. There's a 40% chance of rain with 15 mph wind and gusts of 20 to 23 at open-air SoFi. Los Angeles is 0-4 after losing to Seattle, Ladd McConkey sat out Wednesday, and David Njoku is on injured reserve. Justin Herbert is a tough start against Denver, so I'm not spending here.
- Browns-Jets (39.5 total, NYJ -2.5): 90% rain and gusts to 21 mph. Cleveland has won three straight, but the Jets are a mess. The Bears outgained them 492 to 157, Breece Hall (quad) and Adonai Mitchell (finger) are both out, and Omar Cooper is on injured reserve. Braelon Allen is the chalk at about 26% on DraftKings and 28% on FanDuel.

The Vikings row shows Murray's ownership only, since my export predates the Jefferson news. Lions-Cardinals is the chalk game of the week, and the Arizona stack is the most-owned build on the board, so be careful about paying up for it. I'm still all in on the game because two of the league's worst pass defenses are in it and Goff costs far less in ownership than Brissett. The leverage plays I'm most excited about are Purdy in Seattle and Cousins in New England, two high-scoring quarterbacks under 1% owned, and Cousins just got a better matchup with both New England starting corners out. I'm staying away from the wet games in the East. Before lock, I'm watching Chase and Higgins, how Jefferson's return reshapes the Vikings' targets, the Arizona roof and who steps up in New England with Hollins out.
