With the small slate of games tonight this Minnesota Timberwolves vs Phoenix Suns looks to be the most intriguing. The Suns are favored by 3.5 tonight so we should have a good, competitive ball game, which means fantasy points for most involved, which should make for a great NBA Showdown slate. Here are the NBA DFS top plays we can invest in for our lineups on FanDuel and DraftKings!

Minnesota Timberwolves Injuries:

Phoenix Suns Injuries:

MVP/Captain

Devin Booker, Phoenix Suns (SG)

Devin Booker is the highest-priced player on the slate tonight and averages the most points with 43.8. He has been extremely solid this season scoring over 45 FP in five of six games this season. I just question how high his ceiling is in this game tonight. The Suns rank first in offensive efficiency in the NBA and Booker has a ton to do with that. However, the Timberwolves rank fourth in the league in defensive efficiency. It will be a battle between Booker and Anthony Edwards all night.

Karl-Anthony Towns, Minnesota Timberwolves (PF/C)

KAT has been awesome thus far this season averaging 21/8/5 playing alongside Rudy Gobert, a true center. He has scored over 42 FP in all of his last four games and this matchup is a prime spot for him to do it again. The Suns are missing Deandre Ayton due to injury so their center rotation consists of Bismack Biyombo and Jock Landale. The Suns are also starting Cameron Johnson at the four, I expect KAT to exploit the matchup tonight and be the highest scorer on tonight's slate.

Anthony Edwards Minnesota Timberwolves (SG)

If you want to go a little cheaper and a less chalky play at the MVP position tonight I would recommend Anthony Edwards. Edwards has been great this season scoring over 50 FP twice so far and averaging 23/6/4, doing a little bit of everything for this Timberwolves team. The thing that makes me nervous in this one is the matchup. I would assume he will see a ton of Mikal Bridges in this one. His height and length could be a problem at times for Edwards in this one.

Utility

Chris Paul, Phoenix Suns (PG)

Chris Paul's scoring numbers have stopped a bit so far this season averaging just eight shot attempts per game and only 9 points per game. He is still solid in other aspects of his game, including distributing to all the other shooters on the floor as he is still almost averaging 11 assists per game. The Suns have done a great job surrounding Paul with shooters with the likes of Mikal Bridges Cameron Johnson, and of course Devin Booker. It's likely we won't see Paul blow up for any 50 FP games any longer, but he still has a solid floor of 25 FP night in and night out.

Cameron Johnson, Phoenix Suns (PF)

I talked above about the matchup between KAT and Cameron Johnson being a mismatch for Kat. But When Johnson is on offense I think he should be able to exploit Kat on the defensive end. Towns is not known for his defensive pedigree by any means, and Johnson should be able to exploit the big man from the three-point line. He is a point killer knocking down five of his eleven three-point attempts last game. Cameron Johnson will be in my lineup tonight.

Jock Landale, Phoenix Suns (C)

In the absence of Deandre Ayton, the Phoenix Suns gave the starting nod to Bismack Biyombo over Jock Landale. However, for fantasy purposes, Landale is the one you want and he is cheaper than Biyombo. In two out of the last three games, Landale has played over 20 minutes and scored over 25 FP in both games. He should see over 20 minutes again tonight, and I believe he will give you solid numbers once again.

Dart Throws

Taurean Prince, Minnesota Timberwolves (SF/PF)

The best dart throw of the night in my opinion would have to be Taurean Prince with the run he has gotten over the past two games. Prince has played at least 23 minutes over the last two games and scored 15, and 25 FP. Where he is priced tonight at $4,200 on DraftKings, you will need to play him to get multiple studs in your lineup.

Bryn Forbes, Minnesota Timberwolves (PG/SG)

Bryn Forbes is a major dart throw. He wasn't getting many minutes to start the season, he was under 10 minutes in three out of his first five games. However, in the last game, we saw him play 19 minutes compared to Jaylen Nowell's 10 minutes. Nowell had been producing, but he struggled mightily in the last game. If Forbes jumped Nowell in the rotation he could bring you solid value with the work he does on the offensive end. If you need someone under 3K on DraftKings, Forbes is your guy in this one.
