NBA DFS Showdown CPT/MVP Top Plays

Victor Wembanyama, San Antonio Spurs

It was reported before the last time the Spurs took the floor against the Oklahoma City Thunder on Wednesday night that Wemby was going to see his minutes start to teeter into the 30-minute range. He only played 28 minutes, but it was his third-straight game of 28 minutes, so hopefully we get the big 30 out of him tonight. Either way, Wembanyama is an absolute monster in all facets of the game with his size and length, and has topped 46 fantasy points in seven of his last eight games played. If this guy starts getting 30+ minutes a night, the sky is literally the limit.

Devin Vassell, San Antonio Spurs

Vassell has looked great lately and it seems the team is flowing through Wemby and him. In his last four games, he has played at least 34+ minutes while also recording 37, 39, 41, and 40 fantasy points as a result. This is an excellent match up on his home floor tonight against a Blazers team that has been decent on defense, but mid-pack for the most part. Vassell should once again be a great source of scoring (20+ in 4 of L5), assists (5, 7, 9, 7 L4), rebounds (4+ L4), and the occasional steal.

Anfernee Simons, Portland Trail Blazers

Starting guard Malcolm Brogdon, who has been slating in at the starting backcourt with Shaedon Sharpe on the shelf, mysteriously popped up on the injury report this morning and we have not heard report if he will play or not yet. Either way, Simons is a top option, especially if Brogdon happens to sit. Simons is averaging around 32 fantasy points on the road this season, and has seen 33+ minutes in his last four-straight contests.

NBA DFS Showdown UTIL Top Plays

Jerami Grant, Portland Trail Blazers

Grant has essentially been a 1-2 option as well for the Blazers and has looked really good as of late. Grant is coming off a 45-fantasy point outing vs the Rockets last time out, and has recorded 29, 31, and 45 fantasy points in his last three games, which were all on the road. The Spurs are not a great defense and Grant is an excellent scoring threat.

Malcolm Brogdon, Portland Trail Blazers

I am a bit worried about the availability of Brogdon here tonight, and that is essentially why he is third on my list. If he plays, he will be in play, as we know what he can do and the Spurs are not a great backcourt defending team. Brogdon has had knee issues all season, and it has held him out of multiple games already this year, so I would be a bit concerned even if he does suit up with the knee irritation. He is a fringe play here, but IF he is a go - he has secured 30+ fantasy points in five-straight games, with two of those going for 48+.

Deandre Ayton, Portland Trail Blazers

Ayton must have seen all the reports dogging him after he claimed he was a “Max Player” and then went out and scored just four actual. Well, last time out, he dropped a 50-burger in fantasy on a 18 point, 17 board, three dimes, two blocks, and one steal line spread across 41 minutes of action. He is a solid UTIL play here tonight.

Jeremy Sochan, San Antonio Spurs

Sochan had a rough outing last time out, going for just 13 fantasy points against OKC, however, that is one of the toughest backcourt match ups in the league. With that said, this match up is WAY better, and he had eclipsed 28 fantasy points in five-straight leading up to the Thunder game. He will play 28-33 minutes and will be in the mix.

NBA DFS Showdown Value Plays

Scoot Henderson - Will playing 21-23 minutes regardless of Brogdon's status, however, would get a nice boost in the event he DID sit tonight. Has played well lately and has a nice price tonight.

Blake Wesley - Jones is a full go, but still expect Wesley to see some back up mins.

Zach Collins - Back up center here to Wemby, and should see anywhere from 17-20 minutes of action. Should give a decent floor for his minutes, and could land you 15-20 fantasy points on a good night.
