Happy Friday everyone, it is December 22nd, 2023 and I hope the six-game NBA DFS main slate treated you well. For the NBA DFS Showdown tonight, we have the Washington Wizards traveling to San Francisco to take on Stephen Curry and the Golden State Warriors. This game could end up being a blowout, but at least the game total is high. so offense should be at a premium in this one.

Finding some of the NBA DFS top picks could be easier if you look at Fantasy Alarm’s NBA DFS Projections, powered by FanJections. Let’s dive into the complete breakdown for tonight’s showdown slate.

NBA DFS Showdown CPT/MVP Top Plays

Stephen Curry, Golden State Warriors

Stephen Curry is the obvious play at the captain spot tonight, and he will likely be the highest owned. He has the highest ceiling on the slate, well, because he is Steph Curry. It has been a little rocky for him in the last five games. He has scored over 40 fantasy points three times but also failed to score more than 30 points twice. The Wizards are a bad defensive team, which could open up more looks tonight. However, you have to think about a potential blowout with the 12-point spread.

Kyle Kuzma, Washington Wizards

Kuzma is $1,200 cheaper than Steph tonight, and he is the best play on the Wizards. Kuzma has actually been more consistent than Steph over the last five games. Kuzma has scored at least 33 fantasy points in six straight games while getting up 16 shots in each game. Kuzma has a massive 31% usage rate on the season which is 7th best in the NBA. Kuzma is going to get his tonight, and I do not mind paying down from Curry to him tonight.

Tyus Jones, Washington Wizards

Another sneaky captain play from the Washington Wizards side is their starting point guard Tyus Jones. Jones has been on tear over his past four games scoring at least 33 fantasy points in each. Jones has also had two ceiling games with 54 and 60 fantasy points, including one game with a triple-double. He has dished out at least nine assists in three of those four games. Jones should be in your lineup whether you have him at the captain spot or not.

NBA DFS Showdown UTIL Top Plays

Klay Thompson, Golden State Warriors

It's been a roller coaster of a season for Klay Thompson, but right now he is on a roll. Over his past five games, he is shooting 44% from downtown on a whopping 81 attempts. During that stretch, he is averaging just under 36 fantasy points per game. When Klay is on a hot streak I would advise riding it. Especially with the team that plays as bad of defense as the Wizards. The Wizards have the second-worst defensive rating on the season.

Chris Paul, Golden State Warriors

Chris Paul is still running the second unit in this offense and has been doing a great job. Normally I wouldn't play Paul with his price over 7K and he has only gone 5x value in two of his past five games. But the pricing has allowed you to do so. Rookie Brandin Podziemski is dealing with a lower back injury and is questionable heading into this one. Meaning if he can not go, either Paul or Wiggins will be inserted into the starting lineup. Either way, I expect Paul to see close to 30 minutes if this game can stay close. However, there is a big risk if this is a blowout, so keep that in mind.

Daniel Gafford, Washington Wizards

If you ever watch Wizards games, you know Daniel Gafford is going to work his butt off on the court. That is paying off for fantasy purposes as of late as he is going through a great stretch of games. Gafford has really made his presence known on the defensive end of the court blocking at least two shots in 12 straight games. With the Warriors liking to play small, I love Gafford tonight as long as he can stay out of foul trouble.

Jonathan Kuminga, Golden State Warriors

We finally got the game from Jonathan Kuminga we had been waiting fro since entering the starting lineup for Draymond Green. He finished with 32 fantasy points while putting up 17 points seven rebounds and two steals. Kuminga played 34 minutes in the overtime win over Boston in their last game which was the most minutes he has seen all season. I know it was an overtime game, but to me it says coach Steve Kerr is starting to trust Kuminga, and you should too in this one.

NBA DFS Showdown UTIL Top Plays

Corey Kispert, Washington Wizards

Corey Kispert is just a shot in the dark at $5,200 tonight. He has produced for fantasy purposes as of late failing to score over 16 fantasy points in his last three. However, when Kispert finds his stroke from downtown he can be deadly. He has a 30-point ceiling each night with him getting 21-28 minutes, just know th floor is very low if you play him tonight.

Trayce Jackson-Davis, Golden State Warriors

With the Warriors thin up front, they have been playing Trace Jackson-Davis. He has even played more minutes than Kevon Looney over the last two games, which is eye-opening. Jackson-Davis has taken advantage scoring 33 and 34 fantasy points in each just being a fantasy point-per-minute monster. Jackson-Davis is an old-school big, as he is going to rebound and not leave the paint much.  The best part of Jackson-Davis is he is game script proof, and will play even in a blowout since they will want to give the rookie run at this point in the season.
