Scottie Barnes once again comes through for Fantasy Alarm’s NBA best bets, and the teased-up line would have worked. Barnes earned almost double his rebounding line displaying his amazing versatility once again. 

However, the Lakers looked lost without LeBron James on the court and were unable to beat one of the worst teams in the Association, the Brooklyn Nets. Despite a close game, Kyle Filipowski managed only five rebounds against the Boston Celtics and was unable to cover his 6.5 rebounding line.

The NBA schedule is light today, there are only four games in the Association. Two spreads are insanely high and two are somewhat close.

Clippers vs. Pelicans Prediction: Trey Murphy O21.5 Points (-110 on Bet365) *BET OF THE NIGHT

The Los Angeles Clippers travel to the Smoothie King Center to take on the New Orleans Pelicans. It is the latest tipoff of the day, 8:00 PM ET, and features the only Western Conference teams playing. Although Fantasy Alarm has been raking in the cash with Zion Williamson’s under point total, today we turn to the emerging star in the bayou. 

Trey Murphy has taken advantage of his opportunity due to injuries and trades. He is averaging 35.6 minutes per game, has played in 49 games this season, and could make a case as the best Pelicans player of 2024-2025. He is averaging 21.8 points and 5.2 rebounds per game, and he scored 27 in their most recent match.

The Clipper are a good defensive team, but went into overtime in their most recent match, and could be a little tired even with a day’s rest. The Clippers do not play as well on the road, they have a 13-19 away record and are an even 21-21 within the conference. Each team scores 110.8 points per game and this will be a game that Murphy will have to score often, against a softer defensive back court. 

Even though the Pelicans are playing for a draft pick and the Clippers playing for playoff seeding, expect this to be a close match. Murphy is playing for pride and is already having a career year for almost every personal statistic. Put a unit on him to score 22 or more points against a bad road team.

 

 

 

NBA Parlay Prediction: Cavaliers ML, Bucks ML, Clippers ML (+165 on Bet365)

The Cleveland Cavaliers are playing the Brooklyn Nets who just won a tough match against the Los Angeles Lakers last night. The Cavaliers are 18.5-point favorites against the Nets, which seems too high, even against a tired team. However, Cleveland winning is all but a guarantee. 

They have won fourteen in a row and are the best team in the Association. Bet365 has their futures bet of NBA Champion boosted to +700, and it would be wise to hedge with a fraction of a unit on them. Their odds have been decreasing throughout the season, and they still are not the favorite.

The game in question, and closest spread of the night, is on the Milwaukee Bucks at Indiana Pacers. The spread is 3.0 points, and this is a battle for fourth in the Eastern Conference. Only 1.0 game separates the fourth placed Bucks from both the Pacers and Detroit Pistons. The last stretch of games will be vital for all three teams, and even more so in head-to–head matches.

The Central Division is without question the best in the Association, with four teams in the playoffs and one team in the play-in. Milwaukee and Indiana know each other well, and this match could go back and forth between two championship head coaches. Tyrese Haliburton has been injured the previous three matches, and if he is unable to play this match tilts to the Bucks even more.

The boost is slight, from +143 to +163 but it is a great combination. It essentially takes a -155 Milwaukee money line to +165, as that is the game in question. Put hope in Giannis Antetokounmpo leading to a victory and cashing the parlay for NBA best bet today.

The fourth team from the Central Division in action today is the Detroit Pistons, and that is where the last of our NBA best bets today comes from.

 

 

 

Wizards vs. Pistons Prediction: Jalen Duren O11.5 Rebounds (-130 on DraftKings)

The Detroit Pistons host the Washington Wizards at Little Caesars Arena. The Pistons are massive favorites, with a -14.5 spread, and should win the game but perhaps not by 15 points. The Wizards are playing better since acquiring Khris Middleton and could finish the season with much improved play from their starting roster.

Jalen Duren has been a monster on the glass, with a season average of 10.3 rebounds per game. He is a key factor in Detroit’s success, and he has an opportunity to have another great match. Duren has recorded 12 or more rebounds in three of his last four matches, and five of the last ten. 

The Wizards allow a season average of 56.7 rebounds per game, and over their last three games have allowed 69.7 rebounds per game. Washington allowed 86 rebounds in their most recent match… 86. That is a massive amount, and Duren could have another 19 rebounds effort.

As long as Detroit wins this match, they will move up in the rankings. Fourth is in their grasp, and third could be too should the New York Knicks lose games without Jalen Brunson. Duren will need to dominate against a rookie center in order for the Pistons to win by 15. Look for him to display his great skill set today against the worst rebounding team in the league.
