NBA Best Bets & Player Props January 13: Giannis Antetokounmpo Takes On The Warriors
Not the night we hoped for yesterday, but the good news is iit has zero impact on the decisions today. There are eight games tonight, and eight teams playing in the second of back-to-back games. The NBA schedule is beginning to squeeze some team’s rosters, and players are getting injured or utilizing a rest option. Due to this the player props are severely limited, but two good player props have been found. There is also a teased parlay with two home teams coming off of a day’s rest against teams in back-to-back games. All of today’s games begin at 7:00 PM ET or later, but following this week Saturday will have early afternoon games, or morning games, if on the west coast. The Milwaukee Bucks are heavy favorites, double-featured, and Giannis Antetokounmpo has a prop to lead with the Fantasy Alarm NBA Bet of the Night.
BET OF THE NIGHT
GIANNIS ANTETOKOUNMPO UNDER 33.5 POINTS (-110 DraftKings Sportsbook)
Giannis Antetokounmpo is firmly planted in the MVP race alongside Nikola Jokic, Joel Embiid, and Shai Gilgeous-Alexander. He is averaging 31.2 points per game and coming off of an impressive victory over the Boston Celtics. Tonight Antetokounmpo and the Milwaukee Bucks host the Golden State Warriors who played the Chicago Bulls in a tightly contested battle last night. Antetokounmpo has scored less than thirty in four of his last six games, and the Golden State Warriors could be resting several veteran players, or restricting their minutes. This could lead to a blowout and less minutes from Antetokounmpo, which would be helpful for this bet. Giannis is also sharing the ball more. He has forty-five assists in the past six games, and only one game with less than six in that span. On top of all that, thirty-four points is a lot of points, even for a top five scorer. Play the under tonight.
PLAYER PROP OF THE NIGHT
ISAIAH HARTENSTEIN OVER 11.5 REBOUNDS -125 (DraftKings Sportsbook; 2 UNITS)
This bet along with Scottie Barnes’ under on rebounds has been a unit stacking, NBA jam ‘on fire’ angle, and the New York Knick center will be bet on again tonight. Isaish Hartenstein has been on a tear this month. Four of his last five games he has recorded fourteen or more rebounds. Although the New York Knicks are on a two game road trip, they have had a rest between their matches. Their opponent tonight, the Memphis Grizzlies, are playing in the second of back-to-back games and could be resting starters, or restricting minutes. They allow the third most rebounds to opposing centers and I. Hartenstein could have this wrapped up before the fourth quarter. Barring a blowout this should be an easy bet, trust the two units.
TEASED SPREAD PARLAY
OKLAHOMA CITY THUNDER -7.5 & MILWAUKEE BUCKS -7.5 (+113 BetMGM)
This is a teased down spread from spreads that were originally -11.5 each. The Oklahoma City Thunder are hosting the Orlando Magic, and the Milwaukee Bucks are hosting the Golden State Warriors. Both the Magic and the Warriors are playing the second of back-to-back games, and they have both been on the road. The Thunder and the Bucks are coming off a day’s rest at home, and both are second in their conference. Shai Gilegous-Alexander is third in points per game (31.4), and Giannis Antetokounmpo is fourth (31.2). The Thunder have a +9.1 point differential, and the Bucks have +5.0. margain. They could both blow out their opponents and cover the original spread, but a teased down parlay at plus odds is a smart move, and worth a unit bet.
