Deni Avdija and the Portland Trail Blazers held their own against the Oklahoma City Thunder. Portland covered the double-digit spread, losing 115 - 123. Deni Avdija also went over his assists line, thus ruining our player proposition. The New York Knicks jumped up by 19 points in the first quarter over the Toronto Raptors, and never looked back. They won 116 - 94, easily covering the -7.5 spread. And cashing our double unit wager as well.

Our underdog pick of the Sacramento Kings was going well, and they were ahead in the second half. However, they were outscored by 12 points in the fourth quarter. The Memphis Grizzlies won 115 - 107 due to a late collapse by the Kings. There was an opportunity to cash out with a profit, but the loss cancels the success of the double unit wager. There are three player propositions for best bets today. It’s a look at the bottom teams of the Eastern Conference, and all three bets take advantage of teams with negative point differentials.

NBA Best Bets Today, 12/1: Picks, Predictions & Player Props - Monday

Charlotte Hornets vs Brooklyn Nets: Monday 12/1

Game Time: 7:30 PM ET | TV: Local | Location: Barclays Center | Odds: CHA -4.5 | O/U 234.5

Lamelo Ball has played three games and rested one, twice in the Charlotte Hornets’ last eight games. He has missed three of the last ten games, but should be good to go against the Brooklyn Nets. The Hornets have double the wins that the Nets have, but each team allows over 119 points per game.

This should be a high–paced game with a projected total of 234.5 points, perfect for taking a true point guard’s over on assists. And Lamelo Ball is that. He is averaging a career high in assists per game this season with 8.5. The Nets are not a good defensive team, and Ball should find several open teammates with clean field goal opportunities.

Ball averages 29.6 minutes per game, and has not played over his average in his last seven games. Brandon Miller, Kon Knueppel, and Miles Bridges are excellent scorers, and Ball should find them in the open court. In a game Charlotte is expected to win, Ball will shine. Put 1.5 units on this best bet with juiced-up odds.

Milwaukee Bucks vs Washington Wizards: Monday 12/1

Game Time: 7:00 PM ET | TV: NBA League Pass | Location: Capital One Center | Odds: MIL -9.5 | O/U: 234.5

The Washington Wizards host the Milwaukee Bucks at the Capital One Center. The Bucks are ten-point favorites with a spread of -9.5, but this best bet is independent of the score. Thank goodness because the Wizards are 2 - 16 this season. Instead, it focuses on a player mentioned in the NBA Injury Report & Waiver Wire Ahead of Week 7 Games. And that is Khris Middleton.

Middleton may be a 13-year, oft-injured veteran, but he has been a spark for Washington. He has been lights out in his last two games, playing an average of 28.5 minutes per game. He recorded 6 and 7 rebounds respectively, while adding a combined 22 points. In fact, Middleton has over 4.5 rebounds in four of his last five games. Against his former team, a few former teammates, and the great odds make this an easy best bet. Put a unit on it.

NBA Prop Bet Today, 12/1

Fantasy Alarm is not finished betting on Middleton tonight. After scouring the lines and looking for reliable straight bets, Middleton’s value on assists kept popping out. Yes, his rebounds have been above average, but so have his assists. He was mentioned as a waiver wire add for a reason. He’s playing in championship form, and even if it is only a flashback of that form, it is worth betting on.

Middleton has recorded 16 assists in his last two games. He is more of a facilitator than a forward at times, and he sets up clean looks at the basket for his teammates. Middleton has 4 or more assists in three consecutive games, and the Bucks are allowing 117.7 points per game. Corey Krispert and Tre Johnson are both out with injuries they picked up late in November. This will force Middleton to play more than his average of 25.4 minutes and increase the chances of this bet being successful.

Milwaukee is just 3 - 6 on the road, too. They are young in their backcourt, and Myles Turner is not the defensive threat he once was. Middleton knows his opponents well and should take advantage of their bad defensive habits with not only rebounds, but assists as well. Put a unit on this plus odds best bet and cheer on Middleton to have another great game.
