The NBA Cup group stage wrapped up last night and eight teams advanced. Luka Doncic was the only player who delivered for Fantasy Alarm NBA Best Bets yesterday. The Milwaukee Bucks were on pace to cover their team total, but a 47-point second half destroyed any hopes of a successful over. Tyrese Maxey barely showed up, with one of the worst performances of this season, and Kon Knueppel took a backseat to Brando Miller. So it goes sometimes.

Today’s best bets cut the bologna out, and get away from variable-ridden straight bets. The three best bets today cut out the luck involved with a person’s ability to get the ball in the hoop, and will stay away from team performance’s dictating an outcome. Today, we bet on one of three statistics that are 99% effort, and all three best bets come from Eastern Conference battles. Today, we bet on rebounding.

NBA Picks, Predictions & Best Bets Today, 11/29

Brooklyn Nets vs Milwaukee Bucks: Saturday, 11/29

Game Time: 8:00 PM ET | TV: Local | Location: Fiserv Forum | Odds: MIL -11.5 | O/U 220.5

Prediction: Michael Porter Under 6.5 Rebounds (-148 on FanDuel Sportsbook) 1.5 U

Both of these teams played last night and continue to play today. There are several games for every team the next two weeks as the computers that make the NBA schedule are not intelligent enough to make a balanced schedule while accommodating for the NBA Cup. It’s going to affect personnel decisions, scores, conference rankings, injuries, and player performances. Hence, why Fantasy Alarm is focusing on effort bets the next two weeks. The first bet focuses on Michael Porter

The Milwaukee Bucks host the Brooklyn Nets at the Fiserv Forum in a battle between two of the worst teams in the Eastern Conference. They have the longest losing streaks of the NBA, Milwaukee on a seven-game losing streak, Brooklyn on a three game losing streak. They both played last night, but Porter did not.

He was listed out with back tightness, but yesterday was also the first of back-to-back games. Porter does have well-documented issues with his back (three surgeries), but it could have been planned rest as well. Porter has more than 7.5 rebounds in one of the Nets last five games, and played 37 minutes to earn 8 rebounds in the game he went over. Although he is a great rebounder, the Nets are not using him as one, particularly with Cam Thomas out. Porter Jr. is averaging 3.0 assists per game, 0.9 more than his career high season average. He is spending more time on the perimeter, and less in the paint. Look for more of this with a hurting back.

Giannis Antetokounmpo returned yesterday, and said he’s ready to win. ‘I’ve never lost seven games in a row in my life’. He may have 50+ points, and 20+ rebounds tonight. Put 1.5 units on Porter Jr. to record less than seven rebounds on the road with a hurt back. Chicago Bulls vs Indiana Pacers: Saturday, 11/29

Game Time: 7:30 PM ET | TV: NBA League Pass | Location: Gainbridge Fieldhouse | Odds: CHI -3.5 | O/U: 242.5

Prediction: Nikola Vucevic Over 10.5 Rebounds (+103 on DraftKings Sportsbook)

The second rebounding bet comes from a familiar face in Nikola Vucevic. Although he’s in his twelfth season, Vucevic is still a pillar near the rim. He’s averaging a career low 9.9 rebounds per game this season, but has 12 or more in his last two games. Last night, he had 14 rebounds in 31 minutes, and tonight his rebounding line is set 0.6 rebounds over his average.

The Chicago Bulls host the Indiana Pacers, and the Pacers allow the fourth-most rebounds to opposing teams, 47.8 per game. The Bulls are 9-9 and in tenth place of the Eastern Conference. The Pacers are 3-16 this season, but the spread is only -3.5. Chicago needs to earn a victory, and they are the better team. Vucevic must be a rebounding force in a positional advantage for Chicago. Put a unit on this plus-odds best bet today.

NBA Prop Bet Today, 11/29

Jalen Duren 12+ Rebounds (+108 on DraftKings Sportsbook)

There has been one under and over rebounding best bet today, and the third is a teased bet. Jalen Duren and the Detroit Pistons travel to South Beach to take on the Miami Heat. Although Detroit is first in the Conference, they are +3.5 underdogs on the road. There was speculation that Miami would struggle this year, but doubting Eric Spoelstra and Pat Riley is not wise. They are currently third in the Eastern Conference.

However, this bet does not require anything but great effort from Jalen Duren. His rebounding line was set at 10.5 but has moved to 11.5. It will likely move back down and is found at 10.5 on other sportsbooks. He has 12 or more rebounds in his last three games, and is averaging 11.8 rebounds per game. The Miami Heat are a great team, but allow the second-most rebounds to opposing teams, 49.5 per game. Duren is an elite rebounder, playing against the combination of Bam Adebayo and Kel’el Ware. Put a unit on 12+ rebounds or over 11.5 rebounds, and expect Duren to outrebound the Heat’s centers.
