Fantasy Baseball 2026 Two-Start Pitchers & Streaming Starters - 7/25

Working through the end of July, we have a huge selection of Fantasy Baseball 2026 Two-Start Pitchers to choose amongst this coming scoring period. Loads of aces and SPs pitching like aces that could potentially grace your rotations and bring some fantasy goodness to your team(s). There are conversely a large number of hurlers you would do best to avoid sneaking into your starting rotations, as those in the bottom tier are more likely to damage your ratios without providing much in the way of counting stat value. The middle tier, as has been frequently the case this season, has a limited few arms that are worthy of consideration, if not for two starts, then at least for a single trip to the hill in Week 18.

Instead of employing any of those bottom-tier dual start options, instead take a gander at the pitchers profiled in the second half of this report. There are a number of Fantasy Baseball 2026 Streaming Starters that have some allure, at least for this week’s scheduled trip to toe the rubber, and in appropriate circumstances, beyond that into August as a gem to secure off the waiver wire for continued use.

Please realize that these articles feature the most recent rotation information available at the time they are written, but circumstances can change due to weather conditions, injuries, and general craziness with managers. If a pitcher listed here as having two starts ends up with one (or perhaps none) in the upcoming week, apologies, but this article is meant to provide analysis; it is up to the manager to set the lineups or rotations.

Without further ado, here are this week’s two start pitchers:

This set of arms are those you would do well to consider employing as members of your Week 18 starting rotations. While some you may not have considered worthy of a roster spot when drafts were taking place in March, their recent performances on the diamond make them worthy of a place on your fantasy pitching staffs now. 

Sproat, the second-year right-hander, may have an unattractive 5.09 ERA and 1.38 WHIP tagged to his stat sheet presently, but he has been effective over his last five outings: 2.74 ERA and 1.17 WHIP over those 23.0 IP with 28 Ks (11.0 K/9 rate over the limited sample size). He also has a scary 4.5 BB/9 rate on the season and has allowed 16 round trippers during his 86.2 total IP to date, so it is not all rainbows and rose petals for him.  A couple of road games plays to his home/road splits this season.

Kay has been on a successful stretch of appearances, posting a useful 3.44 ERA over his most recent four starts consisting of 18.1 IP, with a fine 1.15 WHIP. The 15:9 K/BB rate over those contests is nothing to be impressed by, certainly, but he does get to face the Yankees at his home park, where he has seen more success this season. Plus, the second start on the road is against a team playing well under .500 at their home park, so that matchup looks favorable, too.

These SPs are relegated to the bottom tier because they are not trustworthy enough to simply plug into your rotations due to their dual-start status in Week 18, You can review the venue and opponent information, however, and perhaps find one or two arms you may decide are worthy of a single start. While that could certainly work out occasionally, the better course of action is to simply let these pitchers sit on the bench or unclaimed on the wire, and instead seek streaming assistance from the SPs profiled below in the second part of this report.

Potential Streaming Options for Week 18

There is no promise that each game day will provide a streaming option. First of all, the pitcher must be available in at least 50% of leagues to be a viable candidate to snag off the wire. Then, the pitchers discussed above are not included as they have a different sort of value, even though some might be available as free agents in your league. Plus, some days the matchups and/or venues just do not figure as positive enough factors to favor plugging the arm into your rotation, even for one start. Luis Castillo, Seattle Mariners @ Los Angeles Dodgers

The Mariner right-hander has nailed down three quality starts (QS) over his last four outings, with a 3.75 ERA and 1.13 WHIP over those 24.0 IP. He is a below-average K producer (8.0 K/9) but does demonstrate good control (2.4 BB/9) amassed over his 94.2 2026 IP. Not exactly the best matchup possible, facing the reigning World Champions at their home park but his recent success on the mound is a favorable aspect.

Brandon Pfaadt, Arizona Diamondbacks @ Pittsburgh Pirates

The 27-year-old righty is working on a five game consecutive win streak, where he has accumulated a 2.33 ERA. That is excellent work, but he is not a SP to rely upon for strikeouts, with a well-below average 6.7 K/9 rate on his season. His road efforts have been more effective, and thus taking on the Pirates at PNC Park has promise that he will continue his winning streak.

Sean Manaea, New York Mets vs. Atlanta Braves

This is our sole contest where both sides of the starting pitcher options are worthy of streaming into your lineups. Although the veteran Met hurler Manaea stumbled in his last outing, allowing four earned runs to the host Phillies, three on a pair of dingers, prior to that game he had been looking strong enough to be a back-end consistent starter. Over the eight games previous to the game at Citizens Bank Park, he had posted an appealing 3.73 ERA and 1.07 WHIP over those 41.0 IP, with a 36:9 K/BB ratio.

While the Met’s SP is a perfectly acceptable streaming option, the Brave’s hurler offers much more attractive fantasy value in the form of a recent five game stretch were he has accumulated a stellar 1.90 ERA and 1.18 WHIP over those 23.2 IP. He does have some less than positive points, such as a below-average K rate (7.6 K/9 over 92.1 IP) and walk rate (4.0 BB/9). He does pitch significantly better when away from Truist Park, so a trip to Citi Field plays to his plus side.

Gabriel Hughes, Colorado Rockies @ San Diego Padres

The rookie 24-year-old right-hander has been pitching extremely well since joining the Colorado rotation, racking up a tidy 2.79 ERA and 1.14 WHIP during the course of his limited 19.1 IP as a Rockie SP. He certainly looks like he is establishing a role in the rotation going forward, and gets to pitch in a pitcher-favorable park in this matchup against a team that is among the worst in scoring in the majors.

Kyle Leahy, St. Louis Cardinals @Toronto Blue Jays

The fourth-year right-hander took a no-decision while tossing another QS, his first such effort since he was credited with back-to-back QS in mid-June, giving him a total of four such starts on the year. He carries a respectable 3.59 ERA into Week 18, although his WHIP is inflated due to the 33 walks he has allowed over his 95.1 IP this year. There should be some concern about his future innings being limited, as he has exceeded his top inning count set last season already, so the time to get him into your rotations is now.

Erick Fedde, Chicago White Sox @ Tampa Bay Rays

The veteran right-hander has not been pitching deeply into games of recent vintage, going more than five innings only once since the beginning of May. Yet, over is last 10 trips to the hill, he has posted an admirable 2.68 ERA and a 5-1 record, to go with a 35:15 K/BB ratio. The strikeout rate is below-average and the walks are a tad too frequent over those limited 43.2 IP, admittedly, but he is getting results, making him a worthy streaming candidate.

JP Sears, San Diego Padres vs San Francisco Giants

While he does not have a huge sample size to examine, he has been overall effective on the hill for the Padres with one exception among his five starts to date. If that disastrous start at Wrigley Field is exorcised from his stat line, he has delivered a quite enviable 2.70 ERA and 1.00 WHIP over his other 20.0 IP. His peripheral metrics suggest that he may be pitching a bit over his head, but again, small sample size. Plus, this matchup is favorable, being a home game against a struggling division foe.

Luinder Avila, Kansas City Royals @ Colorado Rockies

The 24-year-old right-hander who is due to turn 25 next month is coming off a superior effort against the visiting Giants, racking up a season-high seven Ks and holding San Francisco to just two earned tallies over 6.1 IP. He was credited with a win, his fifth of the season, and a QS, the first of those gems in 2026. He has dealt well from the mound when on foreign soil, so this is dropping into his wheelhouse, even if it is at Coors Field.
