When one streak comes to an end, you don’t just walk away. You seize the opportunity to start another, and that is exactly what we are doing today with the best stolen base picks for today. What can you do? After four straight days of cashing and getting those two hits on Sunday, yesterday’s picks fell short as the Pirates couldn’t hit their way out of a paper bag, let alone advance on the bases, and our longshot pick of James Wood found his way on base twice but never had the opportunity to steal. The run was solid and we’ve been profitable over the past month or so that I’ve been digging through the stolen base props, so let’s just get back on that horse. With the help of our new stolen base prop finder, it’s time to dive into the research and deliver the best in MLB stolen base picks today.

Catchers Allowing the Most Stolen Bases

The final piece of the puzzle for finding the best stolen base predictions involves looking behind the dish at catcher pop times and throwing accuracy. How many times teams attempt to steal a base on a particular catcher is a strong indicator of who we expect to see doing the most running today. Best MLB Stolen Base Picks Today:

Locking in the best stolen base predictions means finding the absolute perfect storm of a high-on-base runner and a weak battery. Here are our top two MLB stolen base picks today for Tuesday, June 16:

Favorite Bets:

Jake McCarthy, Colorado Rockies (+231) – While the wind is blowing out at Wrigley today and people are looking for home runs, we’re going to dive into some Rockies small-ball and look for McCarthy to swipe at least one bag for us today. While he’s got a higher average against lefties, he’s much more productive against righties, and nine of his 11 stolen bases have come against them. It also helps that Edward Cabrera, who has allowed 10 stolen bases this season, is also allowing left-handed hitters to post a .357 wOBA against him, and his catcher, Carson Kelly, is struggling with just a 13-percent caught-stealing rate on 31 attempts.

Longshot:

Brice Turang, Milwaukee Brewers (+413) – If you’ve gone through our stolen base prop finder, then you’ve seen the data that lines up for this pick. Turang has 12 stolen bases on the season, an 86-percent success rate on the bases, and an elite-level sprint speed. Guardians righty Slade Cecconi has allowed eight stolen bases on the year, fourth-highest on the slate, and his catcher, Austin Hedges, has been terrible at throwing out runners, posting just a nine-percent caught-stealing rate. We know what Turang is capable of, so let's sprinkle a little something on these odds.
