🔥 Best Matchups for Home Runs Today, 7/25: Ballpark Factors & Weather Impact
We just noted that there’s no windy Wrigley Field action this weekend, but that certainly isn’t the only ballpark that affects MLB home run picks with its conditions. That’s why our MLB weather report is a must, and after all, the other Chicago team is at home! Rain has also been a factor in the northeast more recently than not, so always stay up to date with yet another one of our tools.
Beyond weather, the pitchers and hitters themselves also determine our targets for MLB home run predictions. We’ll want to avoid the aces like Dylan Cease while attacking the guys struggling like Ryan Feltner, not to mention favorable bullpens for the longball (like Washington). As we break down our top MLB home run picks, you’ll also see all types of hitting metrics from slugging percentages to hard-hit rates and everything in between!
Garrett Mitchell (+488)
To lead things off, we’re going back to the Rockies vs. Brewers game. Admittedly, we had Jake Bauers yesterday, while it was fellow lefties Christian Yelich and Brice Turang (who you could have taken from our parlay) that went yard. Consider any of that trio again for MLB home run picks, as Colorado is starting Ryan Feltner.
We love picking on him almost as much as Tomoyuki Sugano, and of course, we also have the poor Rockies bullpen to enjoy. Feltner doesn’t have drastic splits in terms of righties vs. lefties, so we’re going to hop on this value rather than the guys with shorter odds. After all, the centerfielder has average exit velocities (93rd percentile), barrel rate (89th) and hard-hit-rates (88th) that we love.
It’s more lefty love (Jackson Chourio for a righty), but we’re leading off our best MLB home run picks for today with Garrett Mitchell to hit a HR (+488 at Novig).
Kyle Schwarber (+255)
Now comes our chalk pick of the trio, which is featuring the marquee series of Yankees vs. Phillies. We saw a heck of a pitcher’s duel last night with Cam Schlittler’s 12 K’s and Jesus Luzardo’s nine K’s (that cashed a best bet for us), leading to a 1-0 game. Well, we expect a game with more fireworks today, and therefore, MLB home run picks.
Schwarber lost his league lead thanks to Yordan Alvarez, and both guys are always live to go yard. We’re taking this while we’re getting a reasonable price rather than one in the +100’s, and that’s with New York starting Ryan Weathers. Sure, it’s a lefty, but Schwarber actually has a .507 slugging vs. southpaws since June 1.
Weathers also throws his off-speed stuff to righties, so high exit velocities are on the menu against fellow lefties. So, let’s add to our top MLB home run picks today with Kyle Schwarber hitting a HR (+255 at BetMGM).
Shea Langeliers (+365)
Another lefty starter that we’re going to pick on is in Minnesota. Well, at least the Twins look like they could start Connor Prielipp, who has been off the mound since July 8. That would be great news for the A’s catcher, as he needs to carry the team’s lineup void of Nick Kurtz, but even if it’s not Prielipp, we’re still adding Shea to our best MLB home run picks for today.
That’s because Minnesota also has the league’s fourth-worst bullpen ERA, which is also great news if Prielipp or whoever gets the start isn’t able to go deep in this game. They haven’t allowed as many homers as the Nats bullpen, but we’re talking about a hitter with a ridiculous expected slugging of .517 - good for a 95th percentile mark.
Along with his 93rd percentile barrel rate of 15.1%, we love adding to our top MLB home run picks today with Shea Langeliers to hit a HR (+365 at Caesars).

That’s right - we’ve got a clean-up hitter as our longshot! Also, if you consider around +650 a longshot, then lock in the leadoff man instead, Otto Lopez.
