🔥 Best Matchups for Home Runs Today, 8/5: Ballpark Factors & Weather Impact

So, how have we been able to be fortunate with our MLB home run picks? Well, it’s because we take the time to consider a laundry list of factors, starting with our MLB weather report. Again, Wrigley Field is on deck, so that wind alone is reason enough to check in. We also noted one young starter above, but there are 30 to consider.

The likes of Paul Skenes and Kyle Harrison (in the same game) are on the menu, so do we take a chance targeting a hitter facing one of them? When considering that, we also have to think about the bullpens coming in behind them, and from there, it’s all about the hitters that are actually cashing in with the best MLB home run picks.

We need to see their righty/lefty splits, the form they’re in currently vs. the season overall, which pitch types they prefer to hit and expected metrics like slugging and hard-hit rates. As you can already tell, there is an endless list that we could rattle off, so let’s just dive into our best MLB home run picks for today!

Junior Caminero (+245)

It’s back on the menu! Our favorite trifecta of Coors Field, Tomoyuki Sugano, and the Colorado Rockies bullpen. That means that we’re going back to where we started the week, which is where we’ve cashed the aforementioned longshots! Jonathan Aranda didn’t come through for our top three MLB home run picks despite a four-hit game, but Junior Caminero in our HR parlay did by double donging.

Now the question is which Tampa hitter(s) will come through during an afternoon Coors Field clash. There are more options than just those two when it comes to Sugano’s embarrassing 7.22 xERA and six other key metrics in the 10th percentile or worse! Along with Colorado’s bullpen having the fourth-worst ERA, what’s not to love?

We still have to officially lock someone in, so we’ll roll with Junior Caminero hitting a HR (+245 at BetMGM) to lead off our best MLB home run picks for today.

Tyler Soderstrom (+375)

As it turns out, there is yet another trifecta that we love, which is the Great American Ball Park, Rhett Lowder, and the Cincinnati Reds bullpen. Their relief staff is only a tick better than Colorado’s, and the ballpark is just behind it in terms of being great for dingers, so the A’s are set up nicely to cash in some MLB home run picks.

The negative here is that Shea Langeliers is done for the season with a torn meniscus and Nick Kurtz has a thumb injury that is absolutely a concern. So, while the opposition and location are ideal, their lineup is far from elite. Thankfully, they still have Jonah Heim and Tyler Soderstrom, with the latter hitting righties far better.

It’s not a premier household name that some fans may prefer, but we’re going to be adding to our top MLB home run picks today with Tyler Soderstrom hitting a HR (+375 at bet365).

CJ Abrams (+353)

Rounding out our top three is the NL East rivalry of Nationals vs. Phillies, where we should see multiple hitters for BOTH teams go yard. That’s because Washington is starting Jake Irvin, recently coming off the IL and having an awful bullpen, while Philly’s Andrew Painter also sets up nicely for MLB home run picks cashing in.

Unfortunately for Nats fans, their league-best lineup has been depleted due to the trade deadline (Curtis Mead and Luis Garcia, Jr. both going to the AL East) and the recent James Wood addition to the IL. Similarly for Philly, Kyle Schwarber has been in a slump since the HR Derby, and their trade addition of Luis Arraez isn’t known for his power.

Of course, there are still guys to roll with in this matchup, and as you’ve already seen, we love adding to our best MLB home run picks for today with CJ Abrams hitting a HR (+353 at Novig).
