Jaxon Smith-Njigba and Puka Nacua sit atop my NFL DFS WR rankings for Week 9, much to the surprise of no one! There’s a lot to sort through, but don’t worry, we've got you covered here at Fantasy Alarm! Not only will you get my top NFL DFS WR picks for Week 9, but I’ll also cover my top fade of the week and some intriguing DFS stacks, including a contrarian stack that might have you scratching your head at first! Without further ado, let’s dive into the NFL DFS WR Coach for Week 9!

NFL DFS Week 9 WR Picks

Jaxon Smith-Njigba, Seattle Seahawks - DraftKings: $9,300 | FanDuel: $9,500

I know he’s the highest-priced guy on both slates, but let’s be serious: he’s the Jahmyr Gibbs at wide receiver, in terms of elite production every week. He’s put up 100 yards in four straight games, and he only has one game all season where he didn’t go for 100 yards! The Cardinals play the most two-high safety looks in the league, and JSN has an absurd 4.21 yards per route run against that look, per FantasyPoints Data. In fact, amongst WRs with at least 75 routes run against two-high safeties, the next closest to JSN is Christian Watson, at 3.35 yards per route run, nearly a full yard behind JSN!

Matthew Golden, Green Bay Packers - DraftKings: $7,000 | FanDuel: $6,800

Regardless of Christian Watson’s status, Golden could eat this week. The Patriots play man coverage at the third-highest rate in the NFL, and the production against man coverage for Golden and Watson is night and day. Watson sits at 0.17 targets per route run and 0.49 yards per route run, whereas Golden is at 0.39 and 3.20, respectively, per FantasyPoints Data. In fact, Golden’s 3.20 yards per route run is the third-best mark in the NFL amongst WRs with at least 20 routes run versus man coverage! Green Bay still can’t run the ball, so they are going to throw it a bunch, and Golden has at least 12 targets in three straight games.

Ladd McConkey, Los Angeles Chargers - DraftKings: $5,500 | FanDuel: $6,200

With McConkey looking healthy, I’m willing to trust a small piece of this Los Angeles offense against an underwhelming Houston defense. Following the team’s Week 7 bye, McConkey played 91.5% of the snaps with an 89.2% route participation rate, and he posted 2.61 yards per route run, per FantasyPoints Data. He’s been far better when lined up out wide (3.43 YPRR) compared to the slot (1.19 YPRR), but if the same story continues for this Houston defense, he’ll be just fine no matter where he lines up. Houston has allowed the second-most fantasy points per game to perimeter wideouts, and the 11th-most to slot receivers, per FantasyPoints Data.

Omar Cooper, New York Jets - DraftKings: $4,900 | FanDuel: $5,500

This fell flat on its face last week, but scared money don’t make money! Despite failing to earn a single target, his route participation rate wasn’t significantly impacted by Adonai Mitchell, and the majority of his routes still came out of the slot, which is key for this Week 9 matchup against the Chiefs.

Teams were routinely picking on L’Jarius Sneed, who has since been placed on IR, and if Mansoor Delane misses this game, too, Kansas City could be thin in its secondary. The Chiefs play a lot of two-high, and Cooper’s 1.76 yards per route run is actually better than Garret Wilson’s 1.37, per FantasyPoints Data.

Best NFL DFS WR Values for Week 9

Best DraftKings WR Value: KC Concepcion, Cleveland Browns - DraftKings: $4,600 | FanDuel: $5,600

Concepcion could be the PPR cheat code this week, which is perfect for DraftKings’ PPR scoring system. He projects very well against New Orleans’ defense, as he’s been excellent against single-high safeties and Cover 3. For the year, Concepcion has recorded 1.73 yards per route run and 0.22 targets per route run versus single-high safeties, per FantasyPoints Data, which the Saints play at the second-highest rate in the NFL. Furthermore, against Cover 3, New Orleans’ primary coverage look, Concepcion boasts a team-high 31.4% first-read rate and a strong 1.73 yards per route run, per FantasyPoints Data. Over the last three weeks, the rookie wideout is averaging 6.7 targets and 1.7 rushing attempts per game, and his knack for making a play should show up in this one.

Best FanDuel WR Value: Caleb Douglas, Miami Dolphins - DraftKings: $4,200 | FanDuel: $5,200

Caleb Douglas is a big play waiting to happen, and Detroit has allowed the fourth-most fantasy points per game to opposing wide receivers on the year. I like Malik Washington a lot, too, but the savings on FanDuel going down to Douglas, combined with FanDuel’s scoring setup, makes Douglas quite intriguing. He has an excellent 2.00 yards per route run against single-high safety looks this year, per FantasyPoints Data, which Detroit runs at the eighth-highest rate in the National Football League. He’ll need to find the end zone, but I love his outlook for a big play against this vulnerable Detroit defense. I can’t help but notice his 27.3% explosive reception rate and 17.38 yards per reception, per FantasyPoints Data.

Best NFL DFS WR Stacks for Week 9

Best QB/WR Stack
CeeDee Lamb, Dallas Cowboys - DraftKings: $8,300 | FanDuel: $8,800

Stack with:

I’m going right back to it with these two. Indy’s eyes are on 2027, and Dallas has shown the willingness to move Lamb around to get him in the best matchup, a la a season-high route share out of the slot in Houston back in Week 4. I’d expect another game where Lamb runs roughly 40% of his routes from the slot, because Indy is a slot funnel, allowing the fourth-most yards and eighth-most fantasy points per game to slot receivers, per FantasyPoints Data. The Colts actually have pressed receivers at a top-5 rate in the league, but Lamb has posted 0.36 targets per route run and 3.79 yards per route run when pressed; both are team highs.

Best WR/WR Stack

Chris Olave, New Orleans Saints - DraftKings: $7,400 | FanDuel: $8,000

Stack with:

I know the O/U for this game is right around 43, but could this game be that sneaky shootout of the week? The Saints have allowed the fifth-highest points per drive on the year, so if Cleveland can score, New Orleans is willing to drop back and sling it all around the yard. Cleveland plays so much man coverage, and Olave has an excellent 2.19 yards per route run against man coverage, per FantasyPoints Data. Then, you have Vele, who is strong out of the slot, taking on a Cleveland team that has allowed the 10th-most fantasy points per game and the ninth-most targets overall to slot receivers, per FantasyPoints Data. Tyler Shough has been strong against man coverage, and neither Olave nor Vele break the bank, especially on DraftKings. Admittedly, Olave for $8,000 on FanDuel is a bit steep.

Best Contrarian Stack

Jaylen Waddle, Denver Broncos - DraftKings: $5,700 | FanDuel: $6,000

Stack with:

You won’t come anywhere near this in your cash builds, but to get contrarian, why not go with the Nix/Waddle stack against a Carolina team that has allowed the ninth-most fantasy points per game and the seventh-highest yardage market share to wideouts since Week 4, per FantasyPoints Data! Carolina plays single-high safety looks at the fifth-highest rate in the NFL, and Waddle has a team-high 0.31 targets per route run and 1.56 yards per route run against single-high, per FantasyPoints Data.

NFL DFS WR Fade for Week 9

Tetairoa McMillan, Carolina Panthers - DraftKings: $6,900 | FanDuel: $7,000

I’m fading McMillan here in Week 9, despite the fact that he’s averaging over eight targets per game since the team’s Week 5 bye. He primarily lines up out wide, and Denver has allowed the seventh-fewest yards per target to perimeter receivers on the year, per FantasyPoints Data. I’d expect McMillan to see a bunch of Pat Surtain, which is never ideal, and when Bryce Young is pressured, his numbers take a drastic hit. My caution with McMillan in Week 9 lies in the matchup and Carolina’s inability to handle pressure, so I’d rather look elsewhere at the price point.

NFL DFS Week 9 WR Play of the Week

Puka Nacua, Los Angeles Rams - DraftKings: $8,800 | FanDuel: $9,200

It’s hard to argue with a 40.7% target share, 2.90 yards per route run, and 43.9% first-read rate over the last two weeks. He’s averaging 11 targets per game during that stretch, and Nacua has a top-five yards per route run metric (2.93) against two-high safeties, which Washington deploys two-thirds of the time, per FantasyPoints Data. Matthew Stafford may be dealing with a bit of arm soreness, but he should be out there on Sunday, and it feels like at times, he only has eyes for Nacua. Rams have a team implied total in the upper-twenties, and Washington should have every opportunity to keep this game close.

DraftKings vs. FanDuel WR Picks for Week 9

Between FanDuel and DraftKings, here are a few of the more notable pricing/ranking discrepancies on the two sites. Baltimore Ja’Kobi Lane is priced too cheaply on both sites, but Germie Bernard on FanDuel feels like one of the more mispriced players on the entire slate. He’s right around the top-30 on DraftKings, but couldn’t crack the top 50 on FanDuel? Interesting. Jakobi Meyers and Keenan Allen are better suited for DraftKings’ PPR scoring, and they also find themselves as better values there as well.
