2025 Season Recap
Bo Nix had a breakout second season in 2025, throwing for 3,931 yards with 25 touchdowns and completing 63.4% of his passes while leading Denver to a 14-3 record and the AFC's No. 1 seed. He led the Broncos to their first playoff win since 2015 with a thrilling overtime victory over Buffalo in the Divisional Round, but suffered a fractured ankle on the second-to-last play of that game and was ruled out for the rest of the postseason. Denver lost the AFC Championship Game to New England without him. He underwent surgery in January and is expected to be fully recovered and ready for the start of the 2026 season.
2026 Fantasy Outlook
Year 3 is a big deal for Nix, and the ankle injury is the swing factor entering 2026. The good news is significant: Broncos owner Greg Penner confirmed the team has zero concern about his long-term health and that his recovery is ahead of schedule, with Nix expected to be fully ready for OTAs and the start of the season. He knows the system, the receivers know him, and the expectation is that the minor inefficiencies from his first two seasons continue to clean themselves up. Denver also added Jaylen Waddle this offseason, giving him another dynamic weapon. Projection models have him around 4,200-plus passing yards with continued rushing contribution, and that puts him squarely in the QB1 conversation on a per-game basis if the ankle is truly a non-issue. He is the consensus QB15 and that feels like a slot or two too low for a quarterback who just led his team to a 14-3 record and the AFC's top seed. He is a ninth-round QB2 with a very real path to QB1-level weeks, with the only real risk being a slower-than-expected return from the ankle.
