We’ll highlight the top-tier studs, the best value plays, and the mispriced players in the mid-tier to help gain an edge! Without further ado, let’s dive into the Week 8 DFS WR Coach, exclusively at Fantasy Alarm!

NFL DFS Week 8 WR Coach for Fanduel & DraftKings Fantasy

Be sure to keep an eye on this for updates throughout the week, because there are a few situations I’m monitoring, namely the injury reports for the Tennessee Titans, Indianapolis Colts, Tampa Bay Bucs, and Dallas Cowboys, amongst others. With numerous teams on bye weeks and a couple of injuries, the player pool is a bit thin, especially in the high-priced receiver tier. The mid-value is LOADED with talent this week, so I’d expect us to really attack that price tier for our Week 8 lineups.

After sifting through the data and crunching the numbers, I’ve identified my favorite plays at the position this week, and there should be a receiver or two at every price point to give you plenty of options when building your NFL DFS lineups this week, headlined by DeVonta Smith of the Philadelphia Eagles.

NFL Week 8 Wide Receivers

Quick notes on the slate:

This is a living, breathing resource, and it will be updated as the week goes on, based on injury news, practice reports, etc. By Sunday, you may see some players removed who were earlier featured, or perhaps some players added as we approach Sunday's kickoff.

NFL DFS WR Top Tier Picks for Week 8

Ja'Marr Chase, Cincinnati Bengals - DraftKings: $8,100 | FanDuel: $9,600

10/24 UPDATE: Sauce Gardner was a DNP Wednesday and Thursday due to his concussion. He'll be ruled out, which bodes even better for Chase.

Here’s what you need to know about Chase in two games with Joe Flacco, per FantasyPoints: 51.7% air yards share, 38.0% target share, 2.83 yards per route run, and 127.5 receiving yards per game. Only 25% of his routes have come from the slot, but he has a 37.5% first read rate, and 1.91 yards per route run out of the slot with Flacco under center, per FantasyPoints. This matters because the Jets rank in the bottom-10 in yards per route run to the slot, and the Bengals have the fifth-highest pass rate over expectation over the last two weeks.

CeeDee Lamb, Dallas Cowboys - DraftKings: $7,800 | FanDuel: $9,000

I’m not too worried about a full Pat Surtain shadow, as Surtain has logged just 42 snaps in the slot this season, per Pro Football Focus. Lamb hasn’t gone into the slot a crazy amount this season (26.7% in Week 7), but when he does, good things happen, highlighted by his 0.37 targets per route run, 3.66 yards per route run, and 0.77 fantasy points per route run, per FantasyPoints. Denver has a tough defense, but this Dallas offense is humming, and Ja’Quan McMillian’s 1.01 yards per coverage snap ranks 12th out of 22 corners with at least 100 slot coverage snaps this season, per PFF.

Courtland Sutton, Denver Broncos - DraftKings: $6,200 | FanDuel: $7,700

10/24 UPDATE: Tre'Von Diggs and Donovan Wilson didn't practice on Wednesday and Thursday, making it unlikely either suits up on Sunday. A weak secondary remains without two regulars.

The Cowboys are allowing the second-most fantasy points per game to opposing wideouts this season, and Sutton is the leader in the clubhouse when facing Cover 2 or Cover 3 this season, which are Dallas’ most deployed coverage schemes. Sutton has 80+ receiving yards in four of his last five games, and depending on the status of Trevon Diggs, he could have an advantageous matchup on the perimeter. I will note that while Sutton is my preferred Denver wideout, Troy Franklin is the second wideout I’d look at.

NFL DFS WR Mid-Tier Picks for NFL Week 8

Chris Olave, New Orleans Saints - DraftKings: $5,800 | FanDuel: $6,600

The Saints will need to score in this one, and looking at the numbers, Olave has been going into the slot a bit more in recent weeks. In Weeks 1-4, 39.2% of Olave’s routes came from the slot, but that number is up to 47.1% in Weeks 5-7, per FantasyPoints. This is notable because over the last three weeks, Jacob Parrish has allowed 1.72 yards per coverage snap and a 115.2 passer rating when targeted in slot coverage, per PFF. Lastly, the Bucs have allowed the ninth-most receiving yards to wideouts over the last four weeks.

Tetairoa McMillan, Carolina Panthers - DraftKings: $5,700 | FanDuel: $6,400

Bryce Young is expected to miss the Week 8 game, and I’m excited to see what McMillan does in a full game with Andy Dalton, especially in a game where Carolina is going to need to score. Look at some numbers here for Dalton in 2024 and 2025, as well as Young this season:

The Bills play a bunch of two-high safety looks, and against these looks, McMillan has a 77.3% catch rate, 1.84 yards per route run, and 135.8 passer rating when targeted, per FantasyPoints. Lastly, the Bills have allowed the seventh-highest yards per route run on the perimeter, and against two-high looks, over 82 percent of McMillan’s routes come on the perimeter, per FantasyPoints.

Rome Odunze, Chicago Bears - DraftKings: $6,300 | FanDuel: $7,300

The Ravens have been handing out fantasy points to wideouts left and right thus far in 2025, but they have had an injury report as long as a CVS receipt for most of this season. Do we see the defense tighten up as it gets healthier? Perhaps, but at the end of the day, it’s still an exploitable secondary, and while Odunze has been quiet the last few weeks, we can’t forget that he scored five touchdowns across the team’s first four games. The Ravens have played man coverage at the third-highest clip thus far in 2025, and against man coverage this season, Odunze has handled 63.9% of the air yards, a 35.3% target share, and 3.34 yards per route run, per FantasyPoints. He’s been Caleb Williams’ go-to guy against man coverage, and that should continue in Week 7.

Zay Flowers, Baltimore Ravens - DraftKings: $5,400 | FanDuel: $7,100

10/24 UPDATE: Lamar Jackson has logged a couple of limited practices, and it seems likely he plays on Sunday. Wheels up for Zay Flowers!

The return of Kyler Gordon has helped Chicago lock down the slot a bit more, but the hopeful return of Lamar Jackson is what I’m focused on here. The Bears are one of just five teams to have allowed 10 or more receiving touchdowns to wideouts this season, and when Jackson was on the field, Flowers posted 7+ receptions and 70+ yards in three of those four games! In Weeks 1-4, Flowers posted a 27.5% target share, 2.50 yards per route run, and 13.5 expected fantasy points per game, per FantasyPoints. I like the price far more on DK than on FD.

NFL Week 8 DFS WR Value Picks

Stefon Diggs, New England Patriots - DraftKings: $5,800 | FanDuel: $6,200

10/24 UPDATE: Diggs was limited on Wednesday and Thursday, so he should be fine for Sunday.

The Browns play a ton of man coverage, and Diggs has posted a 38.9% target share and 5.33 yards per route run against man coverage over the last three weeks! Diggs hasn’t gone into the slot a ton the last couple of weeks, but the matchup out of the slot this week is a good one, as Myles Harden has allowed the sixth-most yards in slot coverage this season and a 118.2 passer rating when targeted.

Jaylin Noel, Houston Texans - DraftKings: $3,500 | FanDuel: $4,500

10/24 UPDATE: No Nico Collins or Christian Kirk at practice this week for Houston, so Noel should be the primary slot receiver for Houston this week.

Unless Nick Caley goes out of his way to keep Noel off the field – which I wouldn’t put it past him by the way – he’s the most intriguing WR for Houston in this one, with the assumption that Nico Collins (concussion) and Christian Kirk (hamstring) are out of action. In Week 7, Noel caught four of his six slot targets, posting 4.05 yards per route run and 109.7 passer rating when targeted, per FantasyPoints.  The 49ers have allowed the fourth-most yards per game to the slot, and Upton Stout has allowed 1.26 yards per coverage snap, which is the sixth-highest mark amongst CBs with at least 100 slot coverage snaps, per PFF. So help me, to the big man upstairs, if Nick Caley gives Braxton Berrios more snaps again than Noel…

Jauan Jennings, San Francisco 49ers - DraftKings: $4,600 | FanDuel: $6,100

10/24 UPDATE: Ricky Pearsall still isn't practicing, so he's likely to miss this game, which is good for Jennings.

We’ll have to see what the injury report looks like for the 49ers this week, but in Week 7, Jennings led the receiver room by playing 85 percent of the offensive snaps and hauling in four of seven targets for 31 yards. In Week 7, 41.7% of his routes came from the slot, where he totaled 2.00 yards per route run and 57.1% first read rate, per FantasyPoints. Jalen Pitre does have three interceptions on the season, but per PFF, he’s allowed a 75 percent catch rate and over 12 yards per reception in coverage. Expect Kyle Shanahan to go after Pitre in this one, rather than going for Derek Stingley or Kamari Lassiter.

ADDED 10/24: Josh Downs, Indianapolis Colts - DraftKings: $4,700 | FanDuel: $5,600

Downs is working his way back from a concussion, and after a full practice on Thursday, he'll be back out there against a Tennessee team that will be without L'Jarius Sneed, and perhaps Jeffery Simmons. Downs has been very productive against Cover 4, a coverage Tennessee deploys at one of the higher clips in the league. In his last two games before the concussion, he totaled 12 catches on 15 targets for 96 yards and one touchdown.

NFL DFS WR Fade for Week 8

Jaylen Waddle, Miami Dolphins - DraftKings: $5,700 | FanDuel: $6,900

The Falcons play single-high safety at the league’s highest rate, and while Jaylen Waddle has managed to put up some solid numbers, Tagovailoa has a 0:8 TD/INT ratio and 34.0 passer rating when facing single-high safety looks, per FantasyPoints. To Waddle’s credit, his numbers are very respectable against these looks (2.52 yards per route run), but this doesn’t line up well for Tagovailoa, and the fact that the Falcons have allowed the second-fewest fantasy points per game to wideouts on the season.

NFL Week 8 WR Play of The Week

DeVonta Smith, Philadelphia Eagles - DraftKings: $5,900 | FanDuel: $6,700

10/24 UPDATE: A.J. Brown didn't practice on Wednesday or Thursday with a hamstring issue. Could be one less person out of the mix for targets.

Smith was quiet in the last game against the Giants, but I don’t expect that to be the case this time around. This matchup out of the slot for Smith is simply too good to ignore. Andru Phillips has allowed the most yards in slot coverage this season and has allowed the third-most yards per coverage snap amongst CBs with at least 100 slot coverage snaps, per PFF. I expect him to EAT on his slot snaps (67.6% routes run from the slot over the last 3 weeks).
