After Kelce had what was deemed a “down” season in 2023, catching 93 passes for 984 yards and five touchdowns he exploded during the postseason which included his stellar performance against the Ravens during the AFC Championship game where he caught all 11 of his targets for 116 yards and a touchdown. This, of course, is after he caught two touchdowns in the team’s divisional round matchup against the Buffalo Bills the week before. 

In the 49ers, Kelce will face the team that ranked 4th in DVOA against opposing tight ends but defensive stats against tight ends are often skewed due to the fact that few teams utilize their tight end like the Chiefs utilize their tight end and few teams have a tight end even close to the caliber of Travis Kelce. 

If you want to look at some comps to Kelce that the 49ers have faced this season you only need to go back to the NFC Championship game where Sam LaPorta caught nine passes for 97 yards.
