Three weeks in, the picture at quarterback is starting to come into focus, and a few names are separating themselves fast. Josh Allen has been the best fantasy quarterback in football, not particularly close. Patrick Mahomes and Dak Prescott are both humming along with matching seven-touchdown starts. And on the other end, a couple of guys who looked fine in the preseason are now sitting on ugly turnover numbers three games in. Let's get into who deserves your salary this week.

NFL DFS Week 4 QB Picks

Josh Allen, Buffalo Bills - DraftKings: $7,700 | FanDuel: $9,100

There's really no debate at this point. Allen has thrown for 786 yards and 5 touchdowns against just 2 picks through three games, and he's added 114 yards and 6 more scores on the ground, good for 11 total touchdowns and a league-best 31.7 fantasy points per game. Nobody else is within striking distance. Now he gets the Patriots at home, where Buffalo is favored by a touchdown with the total sitting at 48.5. The matchup practically sets itself up, too. Drake Maye has been a turnover machine, 7 giveaways through three games, and a defense that is opportunistic tends to hand its own offense extra possessions and shorter fields. We already saw what this Patriots team looks like against a good offense last week: Trevor Lawrence threw 3 touchdowns in a 35-6 blowout of New England, and there's no reason to think Allen and the Bills can't do the same or worse. At the top price on both sites, he's still the easiest quarterback to roster in football.

Dak Prescott, Dallas Cowboys - DraftKings: $6,400 | FanDuel: $8,100

Prescott has quietly been one of the most efficient passers in the league: 730 yards and 7 touchdowns against a single interception through three weeks, and that one-pick number is what stands out most; he's simply not giving teams anything cheap right now. He's not much of a runner, just 59 yards on the ground all season, so this is all about the arm, and that's fine given how well it's working. Now he's on the road against Houston, a game with a 47.5 total where Dallas is catching 2.5 points. The Texans have been solid but not suffocating through the air; they're already allowing 239 yards per game through the air, so there's plenty of room for Prescott to keep this pace going.

Patrick Mahomes, Kansas City Chiefs - DraftKings: $6,500 | FanDuel: $8,000

Mahomes has been right there with the big two, 812 yards and 7 touchdowns through three games, tied for the most passing scores in the league, and he's chipped in 41 rushing yards and a score on the ground too, enough of a running threat to add a little extra to his weekly floor even on a quiet passing day. This is really about how good Kansas City's offense has looked rather than anything soft about the opponent; he gets a trip to Las Vegas this week as a 4.5-point favorite with the total near 48, and an offense clicking at this level should travel just fine regardless of matchup. Mahomes at this price relative to Allen and Jackson still feels like a market inefficiency.

Trevor Lawrence, Jacksonville Jaguars - DraftKings: $5,900 | FanDuel: $7,900

Lawrence has 7 touchdowns against just 2 interceptions through three games, and he's added 34 rushing yards on top of that, not a huge number but enough to remind you he can pick up a first down with his legs when a play breaks down. He draws a Bengals defense this week that has been a lot leakier than its touchdown numbers suggest. Cincinnati is allowing 260 yards per game through the air, second-most in the league, even though they've only given up 3 through-air scores. This game also carries the highest total of the entire week at 51.5, with the Bengals favored by 2.5. That kind of yardage-funnel matchup paired with the week's best scoring environment is exactly the spot to target.

 

 

 

Best NFL DFS QB Values for Week 4

Kyler Murray, Minnesota Vikings - DraftKings: $5,300 | FanDuel: $7,200

Murray has only played two full games so far after a concussion cost him most of Week 1, and the numbers haven't been pretty: 186 yards, a touchdown, and 2 picks. Worth watching is Justin Jefferson's status; he's dealing with an ankle sprain and is considered questionable, though the imaging came back clean and there's real optimism he plays. If Jefferson is limited or sits, that just means more volume for Jordan Addison, who stepped up with 90 yards and a score the moment Jefferson went down last week. Either way, the matchup here erases most of the concerns about Murray's own rough start. Miami's defense is allowing 231 yards per game and has given up 7 touchdowns through the air, tied for the worst mark in the league, and Minnesota is a double-digit home favorite with the total sitting at just 38.5. Murray's legs are also a real weapon once he's fully back to himself, and a lopsided score like this is exactly the setup where a healthy Murray can pad his day on the ground even if the passing game is still rounding into form.

Jacoby Brissett, Arizona Cardinals - DraftKings: $5,000 | FanDuel: $6,800

Brissett has quietly put together a solid floor: 652 yards, 4 touchdowns, and just 1 interception through three games, and he's added a rushing score of his own, so there's a little bit of a floor booster there beyond just the arm. This week he draws a Giants defense that has been one of the softer units against the pass, allowing 225 yards per game and 7 touchdowns already. Arizona is only a slight favorite in a close game, with the total sitting at 44.5, which should mean Brissett keeps the ball in his hands often. At this price on FanDuel, that's a lot of expected volume for the cost.

Stack with:

Prescott's 7 touchdowns through three weeks have been spread around, and both receivers remain heavily involved in a passing game that's carrying this offense. Houston's defense is allowing 239 yards per game through the air, nothing close to a lockdown unit, and this game carries a 47.5 total with Dallas getting 2.5 points. That's a solid setup to roster both pass catchers off Prescott.

Patrick Mahomes, Kansas City Chiefs - DraftKings: $6,500 | FanDuel: $8,000

Stack with:

Kelce remains the single most trusted target in this offense, and this is more about how well Mahomes and this passing game are clicking right now than any real weakness in the Raiders' secondary. Kansas City is favored by 4.5 with the total near 48, a game with real upside if Mahomes keeps hitting his tight end the way he has all year.

Trevor Lawrence, Jacksonville Jaguars - DraftKings: $5,900 | FanDuel: $7,900

Stack with:

Washington and Meyers have been the two names carrying this passing game lately, and both are worth pairing with Lawrence in the week's highest-total game at 51.5, with Cincinnati allowing 260 yards per game through the air, second-most in the league. Strange is the real dart throw of the group, though. Cincinnati has been one of the worst defenses in football against tight ends this year, and that's not a one-week blip; they've been a soft matchup for the position for a while now. At his price, that's a cheap way to get extra correlation with Lawrence beyond the two receivers. Brian Thomas is in the mix too, but he's fallen into more of a complementary role in this offense of late, so he's more of an afterthought than a focal point right now.

 

 

 

NFL DFS QB Fades for Week 4

Drake Maye, New England Patriots - DraftKings: $6,000 | FanDuel: $7,400

This isn't really about the matchup; it's about Maye himself. He has thrown just 1 touchdown against 6 interceptions through three games, been sacked 9 times, and is averaging only 9.2 fantasy points per outing, easily the worst full-season mark among qualified starters. Buffalo's defense hasn't even been that stingy through the air this year, but it doesn't matter when the quarterback is turning the ball over at this rate. New England is on the road as a touchdown underdog with the total at 48.5, and I don't trust Maye to be the exception to his own season-long trend. It's a fade for me.

DraftKings vs. FanDuel QB Picks for Week 4

A few pricing gaps stand out this week. Stroud shows the widest split, priced much closer to the top of the pool on DraftKings than FanDuel treats him, so FanDuel is the better site for him if his matchup appeals to you. Lawrence and Cousins both run the other direction, cheaper relative to the field on DraftKings than on FanDuel, which lines up with the matchup case for Lawrence above. And Maye, for what it's worth, is being treated more cautiously on FanDuel than the DraftKings number alone would suggest.

NFL Week 4 QB Play of the Week

Patrick Mahomes, Kansas City Chiefs - DraftKings: $6,500 | FanDuel: $8,000

Mahomes has quietly been every bit as good as Allen and Jackson this year, tied for the league lead in passing touchdowns and clicking with Kelce like it's still 2020. Now he travels to Vegas as a 4.5-point favorite with the total near 48, and an offense playing this well doesn't need a soft matchup to keep it rolling.
