NFL DFS QB Top Tier Picks

Jalen Hurts, Philadelphia Eagles

We are three weeks into the NFL season and the Eagles offense is starting to look as good as it did last season now that D'Andre Swift has become a legitimate weapon. But don't let that worry you about Jalen Hurts because the Eagles QB has shaken off the rust from his opener against the Patriots to go for 26 and 21 FP over the last two weeks. The “Philly Push” is an unstoppable play and has helped Hurts total three rushing touchdowns over the past two weeks. We saw Josh Allen get a rushing touchdown against the Commanders last week and Russell Wilson rush for 56 yards against them the week before. I foresee another strong outing from Hurts in Week 4.

Kirk Cousins, Minnesota Vikings

While running the football has been the recipe for success when it comes to beating the Panthers this season I can't just ignore the QB that already has 1,075 yards and nine touchdowns through the first three weeks of the season. Cousins has attempted at least 44 pass attempts in each of the three games this season and the Vikings defense is so bad that I'm not sure there will be a game where the offense won't be forced to throw the football. Oh yeah, he also has that Justin Jefferson guy as his top wide receiver.

NFL DFS QB Mid-Tier Picks

Anthony Richardson, Indianapolis Colts

Now that Richardson is cleared to play he is going to make my lineups this week. His rushing upside has been on display with three rushing touchdowns already on the year while basically playing just one and a quarter games this season. The Rams defense certainly can bring the pressure but Richardson has shown the ability to not only create with his legs but even be a better passer than we initially thought as well.

Joe Burrow, Cincinnati Bengals

This should be an automatic play this week but obviously the calf injury is a bit concerning. It was great that he was able to play on Monday night against the Rams but he looked like trash. In tournaments, especially on DraftKings he is worth the dart throw because the price is just too good to pass up in the best matchup on the board as opposing QB's have tormented the Titans secondary this season. There is definite risk here so only consider if you are making multiple lineups.

NFL DFS QB Value Picks

Russell Wilson, Denver Broncos

Has Wilson been great this season? No, but, he hasn't been awful either. In Week 2 he went for nearly 31 fantasy points and in Week 3 he finished with 18 in the team's embarrassing loss to the Dolphins. With the Broncos now 0-3 they head on the road to face a Bears team that is in absolute disarray. Opposing QB's have thrown seven touchdowns while allowing over 300-yards passing to opposing QB's over the past two weeks. With a healthy Jerry Jeudy, Courtland Sutton and rookie Marvin Mims making plays this is setting up to be a nice week for Russell Wilson to cook.

Jameis Winston, New Orleans Saints

Who doesn't love a revenge game narrative? The Buccaneers defense is not what it use to be and the Saints are at home with a healthy Chris Olave and Michael Thomas. This feels like a showcase game for Winston as well who wants to show he still has what it takes to be a starting QB in this league.

NFL DFS QB Fade

Tua Tagovailoa, Miami Dolphins

Am I crazy for suggesting you fade the QB for an offense that just scored 70 points?? Maybe, but, Tua's two big performances this season came against very bad defenses in the Los Angeles Chargers and Denver Broncos. In Week 2 he had just 13 fantasy points against the much better New England Patriots defense.  It's not that I don't think Tua will be good but I don't think he does enough where his production exceeds the price tag. The Dolphins go on the road in Week 4 to face the Bills, a team allowing the fewest fantasy points to opposing QB's this season. Yes, the Bills have not faced an offense nearly as good as the Dolphins but Buffalo's defense is expected to be one of the leagues better units this year and there is going to be a lot of hype on this Miami offense going into this week's matchup that I would not be shocked if Tua has a good, not great, performance.
