🏈 NFL Training Camp Live News - Tutu Atwell Returns to LA
Miami Dolphins Trade Tutu Atwell Back to Los Angeles Rams
Well, that was a short trip to Miami for Tutu Atwell. Before even playing a single snap for the Dolphins, wide receiver Tutu Atwell has been traded back to the Los Angeles Rams in exchange for running back Jarquez Hunter.
Respect to Head Coach Sean McVay; he knows what (or who, in this case) he likes, as Atwell has spent all five of his NFL seasons with the Los Angeles Rams. Meanwhile, Hunter is a second-year running back (who McVay spoke glowingly of) who has yet to register a regular-season NFL carry. He will look to get a fresh start on a rebuilding Miami Dolphins team, while Atwell will hopefully help push the Rams offense to yet another Super Bowl victory.
This move is an interesting one for Miami, as they will now rely heavily on a group of receivers headlined by veterans Malik Washington and Jalen Tolbert along with rookies Chris Bell and Caleb Douglas.
Cedric Tillman Released By The Cleveland Browns
More news at the wide receiver position: the Cleveland Browns have officially released Cedric Tillman. As the odd man out in a receiver room led by rookies KC Conception and Denzel Boston along with the veteran Jerry Jeudy, Tillman will look to get a fresh start with another NFL team.
Tillman immediately becomes one of the more intriguing free agent wide receivers on the market. He fits the role of a prototypical X receiver, which several NFL teams are in desperate need of, and he has flashed talent in the past with the Browns, so he likely will not be a free agent for long.
📈Fantasy Football Winners Of The Day
Carnell Tate & Caleb Williams Flash at Joint Practice
Today, the Chicago Bears and Tennessee Titans held a joint practice that produced a lot of offensive fireworks. The two biggest standouts of the practice, though, were Titans rookie wide receiver Carnell Tate and Bears quarterback Caleb Williams.
Showing he has the talent to perform against another team is massive news for Carnell Tate. People have been down on Tate since he has gone through two preseason games without a single reception. Against the Bears, Tate produced seven receptions and two touchdowns on 12 targets. While two of the Bears' top corners were banged up, this is still big news for one of the NFL’s top rookies.
Meanwhile, Caleb Williams was dicing up the Titans' first-team defense, going nine for 11 passing with multiple touchdowns. Williams could be in for a massive year, building upon his second-year breakout last season.
D'Andre Swift “Primed for a Big Year”
Personally, even as a Bears fan, I have always made fun of D'Andre Swift for his poor vision and not living up to his potential ever since he was drafted by the Detroit Lions. Suddenly, something changed last season, as he put together a career year after being reunited with Ben Johnson.
Now, Johnson is saying that right now, Swift is looking “the best I’ve seen him this time of year.” Very high praise and certainly something worth taking note of ahead of your fantasy football drafts.
📉 Fantasy Football Losers Of The Day
Tucker Kraft Faces Competition With Jonnu Smith Signing
Jonnu Smith has found his new home. Today, Smith agreed to terms on a one-year deal with the Green Bay Packers. He joins a tight end room featuring star Tucker Kraft, who is recovering from an ACL tear from last season.
While these two players are very different tight ends, this does mean that Kraft will be limited to more of his natural in-line, “Y” tight end reps, while Jonnu Smith will act as more of a “move” or “F” tight end. Either way, it means Smith will be earning some valuable targets, which means less for Kraft.
Josh Jacobs Officially Charged With Two Misdemeanors
Hope you haven’t drafted your fantasy football team yet, because a suspension could be coming soon for Packers running back Josh Jacobs. Yesterday, it was reported that the Packers were already bracing for a potential suspension; now, Jacobs has officially been charged with misdemeanor battery and misdemeanor criminal damage to property regarding his arrest back in May.
🩼 NFL Training Camp Injury Updates - Wan’Dale Robinson in Concussion Protocol
When looking into an NFL training camp report, it is also important to stay up to date with all the injuries around the league and NFL Training Camp Live News.
Wan'Dale Robinson in Concussion Protocol
One more note from the Chicago Bears and Tennessee Titans joint practice–the Bears DBs were not the only ones to leave banged up.
Titans wide receiver Wan'Dale Robinson is reportedly in concussion protocol after taking a big hit from Bears safety Xavier Woods that Head Coach Robert Saleh deemed a “cheap” hit. Following the hit, a fight between the Bears defense and Titans offense ensued; one of many fights during the joint practice.
Other Notable Injury Updates
- Chicago Bears DT Gervon Dexter did not travel with the team due to an injury amid trade rumors.
- Detroit Lions RB Isiah Pacheco is dealing with injury and is uncertain for Week One.
- Houston Texans RT Braden Smith suffered a plantar fascia injury in Wednesday's practice and is expected to miss time.
- Indianapolis Colts WR Alec Pierce has been activated off the PUP list.
