The final week of July means that not only have all 32 NFL teams reported to camp, but it’s also started with a ton of NFL training camp updates. From Kirk Cousins being named QB1 over Fernando Mendoza in Las Vegas to the Jahmyr Gibbs and Bijan Robinson hold-ins and everything in between, we’ve got a ton to cover. Our NFL training camp report will both keep you up to date with ongoing news like that as well as NFL training camp live news, so let’s get into what’s going on to prepare you for your fantasy football drafts!

🤔 NFL Training Camp Updates For Today, 7/30

Fantasy football and training camp go hand-in-hand for countless reasons, especially when the two guys at the top of drafts - Jahmyr Gibbs and Bijan Robinson - are making headlines. Those who have Ja'Marr Chase would also enjoy not seeing him part of any NFL training camp updates when it involves a scuffle.

Whether you like it or not, we’re also going to continue seeing Patrick Mahomes NFL training camp live news with him being cleared for practice and aiming to be ready for Week 1. As for other contract news, Jalen Carter and the Philadelphia Eagles made history with his four-year, $52 million deal to become the highest-paid DT ever in the NFL.

We’re still only scratching the surface of what’s been in the NFL training camp report this week, and as we head towards the weekend, let’s see what else has been going on.

🏈 NFL Training Camp Live News - Baker Puts The Bucs On Blast, Panthers Rookie Chris Brazzell Out For Season

No New Contract For Baker Mayfield

For the first third of last season, Baker Mayfield was a true MVP candidate and has found a real home in Tampa Bay after a rollercoaster start to his career. That's why he’s part of today’s top NFL training camp updates, as he gave the team a deadline to get a new contract done, which didn’t come to fruition. According to Baker, from here on out, it’s all ball.

However, that’s not all the Oklahoma product said. Mayfield also said that he felt disrespected by the two-year deal offers, expected to have earned a more long-term contract. Of course, he’s not going to have perennial 1,000-yard WR Mike Evans to throw to, but here, fantasy football and training camp go hand-in-hand with how much fans love Emeka Egbuka.

He ended the headline of today’s NFL training camp updates with “pretty far” in terms of how close they were in terms of a new deal. Let’s also not forget that Vita Vea recently requested a trade away from Tampa.

Carolina’s Chris Brazzell Tears LCL

We're sticking in the NFC South with today's NFL training camp report, and while it's not as well-known of a name, it's still a blow to a Panthers team that took a big step in the right direction last season. We saw QB Bryce Young have the best year of his career yet eclipsing 3,000 yards for the first time, and the team drafted another WR early in the draft (third round for Brazzell). The hope was for him to help take pressure off Tetairoa McMillan after all the attention he is sure to get this season.

While it's not the ACL injury that most fans are more familiar with, it's still a significant one worthy of our NFL training camp updates, especially now that Carolina is going to have a much harder schedule compared to last season.

📈 Fantasy Football Winners Of The Day

📈 Xavier Legette Has Another Chance To Prove Himself

That last update is the perfect transition into today's fantasy football winners, as the Panthers rookie WR going down opens things up for other pass catchers not named McMillan. While Jalen Coker is also involved, it makes things more interesting for Legette. Expectations were just as high for him, but he hasn't exactly shined. Does this mean you'll be using these NFL training camp updates to draft him as a starting WR? No, but when a guy becomes a top three WR on a team, he's one that may end up being a sneaky waiver wire add down the road.

📈 Bijan Robinson Owners Hopeful For A Stable QB Situation

Now that Tyler Allgeier is no longer in Atlanta, those looking to snag Bijan Robinson with the #1 overall pick were already pleased to see the TD vulture leave. With Drake London and Kyle Pitts helping take guys out of the box, we still weren't overly concerned with his contract “hold-in” headlining the NFL training camp updates. All that to say that seeing Tua Tagovailoa already back at practice from his back flare up is a positive sign, regardless of how you feel about his actual talent.

All Atlanta needs is a stable placeholder at the QB position to let the rest of the team carry the load (Trent Dilfer-esque if you will). They were the most difficult team to watch last season blow second-half leads, so let's just perfect that hand off to Bijan and call it a day. While a cryptic Instagram post isn't one of the NFL training camp updates today like it is for Jahmyr Gibbs, there is plenty to be optimistic about for the other top favorite of Offensive Player of the Year.

📈 Late Add: Chris Olave Getting Paid = Happy WR With An Upside QB

It's being reported that the New Orleans Saints standout WR is getting a four-year extension worth upwards of $132 million, so while there are question marks surrounding the ending of Alvin Kamara's career arc sitting behind Travis Etienne, Jr., this one is only on the rise. With plenty of fans seeing upside and promise in QB Tyler Shough, this could be the most important NFL training camp updates news of all for those rolling the dice on this combo anchoring their fantasy teams. For what it's worth, we also know that the special plays drawn up for Taysom Hill won't get in the way of Olave's production anymore as well.

📉 Fantasy Football Losers Of The Day

📉 Bryce Young Forced To Deal With Yet Another Key Teammate Injury

That's right - a Carolina winner and loser given the update on Brazzell. While it gives Legette a better opportunity to prove himself to the Panthers, it is yet another downgrade to Young. We say “another" because the team was already battling through offensive line injuries, and even with a healthy squad, Young is not set up for as strong of a campaign. The more difficult schedule that we noted earlier is specifically more difficult in terms of the passing game - they'll be facing top-five pass defenses AND pass rush units.

Young is already a small guy sitting in the pocket, and these injury issues could also trickle down to Chuba Hubbard, especially now that Rico Dowdle is now in Pittsburgh with the Steelers. Let's also not forget that Hubbard has dealt with his fair share of injuries, and if that happens again, that would be yet another part of NFL training camp updates that would downgrade Bryce Young.

📉 Ricky Pearsall & The 49ers Banged Up…Again

One of the most frustrating times for fantasy football managers was when it seemed like we could never get a clear answer with Christian McCaffrey. That theme has continued since then in San Francisco, most recently with Ricky Pearsall. The WR set to pair perfectly with Mike Evans noted knee swelling as part of today's NFL training camp updates, which is even more concerning given that it is due to his PCL injury from last year. With Christian Kirk also banged up, this can also cause hesitation with QB Brock Purdy.

We can't forget that George Kittle is also going to be trying to come back from a torn Achilles tendon, and we also know that seeing Trent Williams as part of our NFL training camp report down the road isn't out of the realm of possibilities. This is all while head coach Kyle Shanahan is absent given the car accident news. Given these NFL training camp updates, you could also make an argument for CMC being both a winner and loser - either more opportunities if this becomes an in-season issue or garnishing more attention from defenses to keep him in check.

NFL training camp live news post-publication has come in with the 49ers on the west coast wrapping things up later than most, and it's not good news for San Francisco fans. There is a very real possibility that Ricky Pearsall could miss the entire 2026 season! If this current swelling leads to another surgery, it would be a massive blow to both the team and anyone out there who has had early year-long fantasy football drafts, Best Ball drafts, dynasty leagues or otherwise.

🩼 NFL Training Camp Injury Updates

As mentioned, whether we like it or not, Patrick Mahomes injury updates are going to find their way into any NFL training camp report. Regarding another star who suffered a severe knee injury, we also saw Malik Nabers return to the practice field, while Micah Parsons made his way to the PUP list. A more recent addition to the NFL training camp updates was that of Jonathan Greenard’s pec strain. As for other noteworthy injuries among today's NFL training camp updates…

  • Ricky Pearsall (49ers) - knee swelling (from past PCL injury)
  • Shemar Stewart (Bengals) - hyperextended knee (out several weeks but believed to have avoided ligament damage)
  • Chris Brazzell (Panthers) - torn LCL (season-ending for the rookie)
  • Tua Tagovailoa (Falcons) - returned to practice (missed yesterday with a back issue)
  • Giovanni Manu (Lions) - expected to miss 12-14 weeks (undisclosed)
  • Calvin Ridley (Titans) - back at practice after missing due to illness
  • Quinshon Judkins (Browns) - moving well at practice recovering from last year's knee injury

As for another one to highlight for NFL training camp updates today, Bears fans, fantasy lovers and the like will want to see the latest comments from Rome Odunze
