Three weeks in and the board just got turned upside down again. A rookie running back took his backfield's training wheels off and immediately became must-roster. A star receiver's ankle sprain blew up an entire Vikings game stack. And a second-year back with a monster offseason deal is finally the RB1 his contract says he is. Let's get into it.

Here's where I've got my money, straight from Fantasy Alarm's DK and FD models: the chalk that's earned it, the guys nobody's touching who should be owned, where the real leverage lives, and how I'd actually build around all of it.

NFL DFS Ownership Projections Week 4

Jaguars-Bengals is the game everyone's circling, tied for the slate's highest total at 51.5 with Cincinnati -2.5. Vikings-Dolphins is the polar opposite, lowest total on the board at 38.5 with Minnesota laying 10.5 at home, and that number exists for a reason. Ravens-Titans has the single biggest spread of the week, Baltimore -11.5, and Chiefs-Raiders (47.5, Chiefs -4.5) rounds out the group of lines actually moving ownership this week.

Highest-Owned NFL DFS Players

Four players are bunched between 31% and 33% on DraftKings, and two of them wear Vikings purple. Aaron Jones and Jordan Addison lead the way, Chase Brown and Jaguars receiver Parker Washington sit right behind them in the board's highest-total game, and McCaffrey and the Minnesota defense round out a very crowded top end.

That Vikings cluster isn't an accident. Justin Jefferson's out with an ankle sprain, De'Von Achane tore his ACL and is done for the year, and Miami's whole operation is 0-3 and averaging under 13 points a game under Malik Willis. Minnesota is the field's favorite get-right spot on the entire board, offense and defense both, and with Jefferson sidelined Addison is the receiver soaking up that ownership, with T.J. Hockenson at $3,300 grabbing 30% on DK as the cheap tight end in the same spot.

Best NFL DFS Chalk Plays

  • Christian McCaffrey (RB, SF) vs. DEN: 49ers favored by 3 at home. Doesn't matter how the touches get split up front, McCaffrey's role is too big to fade at this price.
  • Aaron Jones (RB, MIN) vs. MIA: Jefferson's out, Achane's done for the season on the other side, and Minnesota is laying 10.5 at home in the lowest-total game on the slate. Every arrow is pointing at a big workload.
  • Jordan Addison (WR, MIN) vs. MIA: Jefferson is out, which pushes Addison into the lead receiver role in a 10.5-point home blowout. At $5,300 on DK he's the cheapest way into that Minnesota offense, and the ownership says everybody noticed.
  • Jeremiyah Love (RB, ARI) vs. NYG: he just took the Cardinals backfield away from Tyler Allgeier for good, 26 touches and 109 yards from scrimmage last week, nearly double Allgeier's snap count. Now he gets a Giants run defense that's been soft all year. This rookie is the real deal.
  • Vikings DST vs. MIA: see Aaron Jones above. Same game, same blowout logic, a 0-3 offense averaging single digits more often than not against a defense that's rested and dangerous.
  • Parker Washington (WR, JAX) vs. CIN: he's been the clear No. 1 option in Jacksonville's passing game, 94% route participation last week and 3.69 yards per route run against man coverage, which Cincinnati plays a lot. The Bengals' secondary is dinged up too, with both safeties hobbled and the starting nickel headed to IR. He's earned the 31%.
  • Ja'Marr Chase (WR, CIN) vs. JAX: tied for the slate's highest total at 51.5, and Jacksonville's top two corners are both banged up heading in. Chase himself put it best this week, it doesn't matter who's covering him.
  • Chase Brown (RB, CIN) vs. JAX: I'll be straight with you, I don't love this one as much as the ownership suggests. Jacksonville's run defense is legitimately elite, 58 yards a game allowed, and Brown hasn't topped 82 yards in any game this season. The volume's locked in, but the ceiling might not be there.

Best NFL DFS Low-Owned Plays

Every week there's a handful of guys with real salary and a real job that the field just isn't rostering. A couple of names you won't find here on purpose: Justin Jefferson and DeVonta Smith are both out, so their rock-bottom ownership isn't a market inefficiency, it's just correct.

Lamar Jackson at under 3% is the strangest number on this whole board. Baltimore's laying 11.5, the biggest spread of the week, and somehow the field isn't touching their quarterback. Purdy's cheap-owned purely because McCaffrey's eating all the attention in that offense, not because the matchup's bad. And Hurts at half a percent is the one I keep coming back to: DeVonta Smith is out, Dallas Goedert's out, Marquise Brown's banged up, this Eagles passing game is thin enough that the ground game has to carry more of the load, and Hurts himself is live for goal-line work regardless.

Barkley fits that same Eagles logic, a real bell cow priced like an afterthought because the offense around him looks shaky on paper. Javonte Williams hasn't lost his role at all, he's just priced down because Dallas is on the road. Montgomery's a legit Texans starter the field is fading purely off the win-loss record. DJ Moore's the one piece of a hot Bills offense nobody's touching, Christian Watson's quietly become Green Bay's best receiver and it hasn't shown up in his price, and Malik Nabers is a true WR1 getting buried by the Jameis Winston news cycle.

Derrick Henry off McCaffrey is the same play it's been for a month now, cheaper salary, similar role, a fraction of the ownership, this time against a Titans defense that's getting run over by everybody. Barkley off Jones is the one I like best on the board, Jones earned his ownership off the Dolphins' collapse, but Barkley's sitting in single digits for no real reason tied to his own matchup. D'Andre Swift off Love makes sense if you think the rookie hype is getting a little ahead of itself, though I'm not betting against Love myself. CeeDee Lamb off Chase is pure name recognition, and the Seahawks off the Vikings DST is the same site-independent idea we've used all year, a cheaper, nearly identical unit sitting way under the chalk.

Best Contrarian NFL DFS Plays

Stack the stuff nobody's touching. That's how you actually separate in a tournament instead of hoping one punt hits.

  • Eagles: Hurts and Barkley together, a correlated run-game build in an offense that has to lean on the ground with its passing weapons banged up. Both are sitting in single digits.
  • Ravens: Lamar Jackson in the week's biggest spread, 11.5 points, against a Titans defense that's been a sieve. Nobody's building around this game and I don't get it.
  • Giants: Malik Nabers on his own, a true WR1 getting buried by the quarterback headlines even though his role hasn't changed one bit.

Best GPP Plays Based on Ownership

Anchor with a chalk play that's earned it, then build out with the low-owned and leverage names instead of fading the whole top of the board like it's all a trap.

  • Chalk anchor: Aaron Jones or Jeremiyah Love. Both earn it on role and a genuinely bad opposing defense, not name value.
  • Leverage pivot: Saquon Barkley off Aaron Jones, or Derrick Henry off McCaffrey at a similar price.
  • Low-owned game stack: Hurts and Barkley together in Philly, a correlated build nobody's touching because the receiver room looks banged up on paper.
  • Value at the bottom: David Montgomery, a real starter getting punted purely because Houston's record looks bad, not because his role changed.
