Will the Phoenix Suns have enough players to field a team tonight against Denver? Not only are the Suns incredibly banged up at the moment, they will also be playing for the second time in as many days tonight against the Nuggets for Wednesday’s NBA DFS Showdown Slate and Phoenix will be at a disadvantage. The good news is that their prices were set prior to Tuesday night’s game, so the prices could be a little soft based on their most recent performance. Our operating assumption is going to be that the Suns lineup is going to look similar tonight to what it did on Tuesday. Let us dig into some NBA DFS Showdown Slate picks to finish the night off in the green.

NBA DFS Showdown Slate Picks

MVP/Captain

Nikola Jokic, Denver Nuggets

Is there really any option here tonight? I know there is a ton of blowout risk to be aware of, but in a Showdown Slate that goes out the window. Jokic is clearly the best player on the slate with the most upside, and we know he will play a large part in Denver’s success. It was a bit interesting that Jokic only took five shots against the Lakers in 35 minutes, but he made all five and it did not hold him back from his third triple-double out of five games.

Mikal Bridges, Phoenix Suns

Bridges is going to be the main source of offense for the Suns, and while we do need to keep an eye on their lineup as get closer to game time, there is no disputing the fact that the forward will have a large role. On the season, Bridges is averaging a solid 15.4 points, 4.5 rebounds, and 3.2 assists per game, but he has shown upside across the board at times this year.

Jamal Murray, Denver Nuggets

The by-product of Jokic only taking five shots on Sunday was that Murray had 29 shot attempts on his way to a 34 point outing. Murray’s offensive game is getting back to where it was pre-injury and we know that he is a large part of Denver’s plan.

Utility

Torrey Craig, Phoenix Suns

Even by default, Craig is going to start and play at least 30 minutes tonight and that means he will be in position for a fair amount of production. The forward scored 17 points and grabbed nine rebounds a few games ago, so we know that the capability is there.

Aaron Gordon, Denver Nuggets

Gordon does not come cheap tonight, but depending on how you handle the back end of your roster with the Phoenix value, that might not matter. The forward is averaging 16.6 points per game this season but that has dipped to 12.5 over his last six as he is struggling with his shot (43.5% from the field compared to 58.2% on the season). With an average of nine rebounds in that stretch, we are still getting production out of Gordon, just not as much as before. Facing the Suns tonight though could very easily get him back on track.

Duane Washington, Phoenix Suns

Who ever would have thought that Washington would have a very good chance to be the leading scorer for the Suns tonight? To be fair though, Washington’s offensive production has not come out of nowhere as entering action on Tuesday, the guard had scored in double figures for eight straight games including a 25 point effort against the Cavaliers on Sunday.

Bones Hyland, Denver Nuggets

Hyland can score and shoot with the best of them, and he very well could have that opportunity tonight in the second half against Phoenix if things get out of hand.

Dart Throw

Jock Landale, Phoenix Suns

From our perspective, I am not sure that it matters whether or not Landale starts or comes off the bench. The latter has worked just fine for the center who has shown the ability to score and rebound when given the chance and generally scores in double figures when given the opportunity.

Vlatko Cancar, Denver Nuggets

Cancar has been busier as of late as he is averaging 20 minutes per game in his last six. The forward has 7.8 points and 3.2 rebounds per game in that stretch and he should get plenty of action in garbage time tonight which could also lead to increased production.
