Talk about star power. We end tonight’s NBA schedule with an action-paced NBA DFS Showdown Slate as Ja Morant and the Memphis Grizzlies take on Nikola Jokic and the Denver Nuggets. Let us dig into some options to help you finish out your night in the green.

NBA DFS Showdown Slate Picks

While the thought process might be to save some salary cap space tonight, I am not sure that we really have the luxury to do so at the captain spot as no one can match the upside here. At the same token, there might some credence towards elevating one of our Utility picks, or even by going cheaper, to fit both stars into a line.

MVP/Captain

Nikola Jokic, Denver Nuggets

Jokic came close to hitting the century mark on DraftKings on Sunday with 40 points, 27 rebounds, and 10 assists as he continues to do some prolific things on the basketball court. While we are not in the position to chase 27 rebounds, nothing we saw from Jokic was truly out of the ordinary and he has been surging as of late. Over his last four games, Jokic is averaging 34.8 points, 16 rebounds and 10 assists per game, and there is no reason not to expect him to continue the hot streak.

Ja Morant, Memphis Grizzlies

If anyone has the ability to match Jokic, it is going to be Morant who has a favorable matchup against a Denver team that has been hospitable to opposing point guards. It was not a good night for Morant on Saturday as he ejected after making just three of 10 shots form the field in 16 minutes of action and I would look for him to bounce back tonight. Morant has broken 57 DK points in three of his last five games and is averaging 26.7 points, 7.7 assists, and 6.7 rebounds per game this year as he continues another strong season.

Utility

Aaron Gordon, Denver Nuggets

The fact that the Nuggets seem to be perpetually shorthanded, and Michael Porter Jr has missed a bunch of time has certainly helped Gordon. He has been playing some solid basketball while also scoring more consistently than we have previously seen averaging 17 points per game this season along with 6.4 rebounds. That is also consistent with what we have seen from Gordon as of late and that makes him a strong option tonight.

Jaren Jackson, Memphis Grizzlies

Jackson has been back in action for about a month, and the results have been pretty strong from the big man. While Jackson is averaging 17.1 points per game this season along with 6.3 rebounds, he has been a solid contributor while his 3.1 blocked shots provide some upside.

Bruce Brown, Denver Nuggets

Brown should see a nice boost if Murray and/or Caldwell-Pope are out tonight, and he has shown the ability to perform at a strong level all season. That has been especially true when there is increased usage for Brown who is coming off a 16-point performance on Sunday.

Steven Adams, Memphis Grizzlies

While there might not be much upside here with Adams, we do get a solid floor from the dependable veteran. Adams is averaging 8.1 points and 10.2 rebounds per game and he should be able to provide a similar stat line tonight in his close to 30 minutes of playing time.

Bones Hyland, Denver Nuggets

If we get the news that Murray will be sidelined tonight, then Hyland deserves a long look and likely will be a very popular option as well. Hyland can heat up very quickly off the bench but we do have to at least hold some concern with his efficiency as he is shooting just 40% from the field this season.

Dart Throw

Christian Braun, Denver Nuggets

Braun has topped 20 minutes in for of his last five games, and while he has a high of eight points in that stretch, we have to chase the minutes here for the price. With the possibility the Nuggets are shorthanded tonight, Braun could see increased volume.

David Roddy, Memphis Grizzlies

Roddy has been playing close to 20 minutes per game as of late, and in his last three games, he has attempted 33 shots while averaging 11 points. At this price, that is all we need.
