For tonight’s NBA DFS Showdown breakdown, we’re looking at the late-night hammer between the Denver Nuggets and Los Angeles Clippers. The Nuggets are incredibly short-handed here as Aaron Gordon, Jamal Murray, and now Nikola Jokic are all out on the second leg of a back-to-back. The Clippers opened as 5.5-point favorites and are up to 10.5 on this slate. Finding some of the NBA DFS top picks could be made easier if you take a look at Fantasy Alarm’s NBA DFS Projections, powered by FanJections. Let’s dive into the complete breakdown for tonight’s showdown slate

Los Angeles Clippers Injuries

NBA DFS Showdown CPT/MVP Top Plays

Paul George, Los Angeles Clippers

If this game stays competitive, Paul George is in line for a massive game. It’s ballooned up to an 11-point spread as Denver is without Jokic, Murray, and Gordon and they’re on the second leg of a back-to-back. George has been the most consistent Clippers fantasy producer since the James Harden trade. He can get it done in three quarters.

Michael Porter Jr., Denver Nuggets

If Denver has any chance at keeping this game competitive, it’s at the hands of Michael Porter Jr. and his ability to score the basketball. He does average 1.15 FP/min without the likes of Jokic, Murray, and Gordon this year. He’s put up 30+ DKP in 11 of his last 12 games and has a solid ceiling/floor tonight.

Reggie Jackson, Denver Nuggets

I think if you want to spend all the way up on multiple Clippers and think this game is competitive Jackson’s a super strong option. Jackson showed last night he does have a ceiling and with everyone out this year, he’s actually the Nuggets clubhouse leader in FP/min at 1.21. If this game stays close Reggie Jackson revenge plays a large part.

NBA DFS Showdown UTIL Top Plays

Kawhi Leonard, Los Angeles Clippers

I like Leonard here avoiding the Aaron Gordon match-up and it with Denver running a makeshift crew, Leonard is poised to have a very workmen like performance. He could have a ceiling defensive stocks game with all that said.

Christian Braun, Denver Nuggets

Braun hasn’t had the most consistent fantasy output this year, but he has been decent without Jokic, Gordon, and Murray on the floor. He’s played the most minutes without them this year and has averaged 1.12 FP/min this season. I don’t think he’s going to start this game, but he definitely has a path to 30 minutes here.

NBA DFS Showdown Value Plays

Norman Powell, Los Angeles Clippers

Powell has been a highly effective bench presence for the Clippers and is scoring the ball at a very high clip this season. He’s been at .84 FP/min this year and at a sub-5K price point. We’ve also seen him get some blowout run if this game gets out of hand.

DeAndre Jordan, Denver Nuggets

The expectation is that Jordan is going to start and even if he doesn’t, he’s firmly entrenched into a solid role off the bench. Jordan’s a solid FP/min guy and will be extremely popular on this showdown slate.
