The worst outing in over a week, one out of three correct predictions. Brook Lopez snatched a meaningless late rebound that would not allow us to begin the week with ‘Meat Loaf’. Coby White was the leading scorer and the Bulls won it in overtime, securing the Bet of the Night. Today there are five games across the NBA and the nationally televised game, the Memphis Grizzlies at Dallas Mavericks have a 8:30 PM ET tipoff. There will be a parlay from that match, as the Memphis Grizzlies prepare to play without Ja Morant for the rest of the season. There is also a coast-to-coast Showdown at Madison Square Garden as the New York Knicks host the Portland Trail Blazers with a 7:30 Tipoff. There is a point prop in that game tonight. The Fantasy Alarm NBA Best Bet of the Night is at Crypto.com arena as the Lakers host the Toronto Raptors, and a familiar face returns to the column.

BET OF THE NIGHT:

SCOTTIE BARNES UNDER 8.5 REBOUNDS +105 DK 2 UNIT

Scottie Barnes has been a Fantasy Alarm betting favorite, and is in the running for the most improved player of the year award. The arrival of Immanuel Quickly has had an effect on the entire team, but moving S. Barnes off the ball has caused a drop in one of his statistics. The once double-double machine was one of the first players to log a triple-double this year, and betting his over on points or rebounds was a regular occurrence. His point total is around his average per game, his assists have surprisingly gone up since moving off the point guard, and oddly enough his rebounding is drastically down. In fact he does not have eight rebounds IN THE PAST THREE GAMES COMBINED. He has yet to record more than six this month and maybe it is the extensive road trip the Raptors are on, perhaps it is being outside the arch more, or perhaps this will be more of his average with I. Quickly controlling the flow and direction of the ball. The Lakers allow several rebounds to guards, and the sportsbooks have simply allowed his average to be the set line. S. Barnes’ minutes are down compared to Quickly, he’s off the ball, on the fourth of a six game road trip, playing the first of back-to-back games, and up against two great rebounders in Anthony Davis and LeBron James. Trust the double unit, positive odds on the under tonight.

PROP BET:

JALEN BRUNSON OVER 27.5 POINTS -110 MGM

The is a profit boost on MGM today, it maxes out at $10, but if your unit is higher than that you can subtract from your unit, for a slightly better return, or just put ten extra dollars to your unit. The over on this line is as high as -135 on other sportsbooks, so taking it near evens odds seems like a steal. The New York Knicks are playing back at Madison Square Garden after a two game road trip, and have another two game road trip after tonight. They are heavy favorites against the Portland Trail Blazers and for good reason. The Knicks have won every game this month and Jalen Brunson has covered this prop in three straight games. He is averaging twenty-six points per game, but since the trade with the Raptors his minutes have slightly gone up as well. The Trail Blazers allow the eighth most points to opposing point guards and the Knicks are averaging 115.8 points per game. Jalen Brunson will attack the paint versus weak guards and be able to out maneuver Portland’s centers Duop Reath and Ibou Badji. As long as this is not a blowout by the start of the fourth quarter, this should be a prop J. Brunson delivers on.

PARLAY:

ALT. SPREAD SACRAMENTO -4.5 & DALLAS -4.5 -118

This is a teased down two fold parlay that is betting against the worst team in the league, and a team that just lost its superstar who had lifted the team to playoff relevance. The Sacramento Kings are -11.5 on the original spread, and although they could safely cover it, they lost to the dismal Charlotte Hornets who have won only one of their past twelve games. The Kings are also beginning an extensive road trip, and the spread seemed too high… even for Detroit. This well teased down line, covers any late rallies, and a close game throughout the night.

The Dallas Mavericks have a set spread of -8.5, and the confidence for Dallas to cover at home against the Ja Morantless Memphis Grizzlies is higher than the Kings. The Grizzlies are back to where they started after winning six of their last ten games. They were not experiencing many wins without Ja Morant and even though Marcus Smart and Desmond Bane have been playing well, Kyrie Irving and Luka Doncic could be too much of a back court for them to handle. In the event this is closer than anticipated though, the spread has been teased down to -4.5 as well. Great teams cover spreads and Sacramento and Dallas are fifth and sixth respectively in the Western Conference. That is good but not great. This teased parlay comes in at great odds, near even.
