The Philadelphia 76ers covered the -4.5 spread yesterday against the red hot Toronto Raptors. They are playing in back to back matches, and there will be a best bet on a 76ers player today. More on that later. The Portland Trail Blazers put up a battle against the Miami Heat. The score ended up 136 - 131, but not in Portland’s favor. Still it was a thrilling match.

The Los Angeles Lakers perfect road record went up in smoke in “Hotlanta”. The Atlanta Hawks gave the golden west coast team a southern butt whooping. 122-102 and this match was over in the first half, but the Hawks held the Lakers to 18 third quarter points just to make sure. Today there are several games, broadcasted locally and on NBA League pass. Two player props and a spread are Fantasy Alarm’s NBA best bets today.

Houston Rockets at Milwaukee Bucks: Sunday 11/9

Game Time: 3:30 PM ET | TV: Local | Location: Fiserv Forum | Odds: HOU -3.5 | O/U 232.5

Prediction: Myles Turner Over 5.5 Rebounds (-114 FanDuel Sportsbook)

Myles Turner is far from a spring chicken, now in his 11th season as an NBA center. The Dallas/Ft. Worth high school star in only 29, but his knees may be past that age. He looks awkward, running down the court, but he’s still an effective big man for his new team. The Milwaukee Bucks.

Today the Bucks host the Houston Rockets at the Fiserv Forum in a potential NBA Finals preview. In Houston’s most recent game against the San Antonio Spurs, there was a moment when every Rocket on the floor was 6’ 10” or taller. They are a fantastic rebounding team, holding opponents to the third lowest total this season, 38.5 rebounds per game.

The good news is Turner is 6’ 11” and has a 7’ 4” wingspan. He’s averaging 28.7 minutes per game, and has recorded over 5.5 rebounds in six of his last seven matches. Turner has never had a teammate like Giannis Antetokounmpo who is capable of drawing so much attention around the rim. And that is both offensively and defensively, which allows Turner to sneak in or not be blocked out by the opposing team's best rebounder. This has led to a better rebounding average this season. Put a unit on the former Texas Longhorn to do what centers do, rebound the ball.

Boston Celtics at Orlando Magic Prediction Sunday 11/9

Game Time: 6:00 PM ET | TV: Local | Location: Kia Center | Odds: ORL -3.5 | O/U: 226.5

Prediction: Orlando Magic -3.5 (-110 FanDuel Sportsbook

Fantasy Alarm NBA best bets have spoken about the power in the law of averages, to be more specific the law of large numbers. Some call it the “gambler’s fallacy”. Today we challenge that law, and accept that occasionally it is a fallacy. Just two days ago this column suggested a best bet on the Celtics to cover a +3.5 spread on the road against the Orlando Magic.

The law of averages states the Celtics should cover due to losing and outcomes changing based on probability. The eye test says the Orlando Magic are a better, deeper team. The Magic have the better record, they average four more points per game, and won by 13 points in their previous match Friday.

Now they do it again, but not on a colorful NBA Cup court. The Magic’s backcourt absolutely demolished the Celtics in the last game. Franz Wagner and Desmond Bane combined for 49 points, and Boston doesn’t have a defensive answer for them. Paolo Banchero can power through any Celtics frontcourt defender, and the Magic are healthy enough to have a deep bench rotation too. Put a unit on Orlando to cover the spread on their home court once again.

NBA Prop & Parlay Bet Today, 11/9

Andre Drummond Over 9.5 Rebounds (-114 FanDuel Sportsbook

Today turned into somewhat of an “unc” article. Not one, but two old veterans are called upon to deliver on their player propositions. Andre Drummond is a 6’ 11” center who is in his thirteenth season. His primary role is the back up for oft-injured Joel Embiid. Embiid doesn’t play in back-to-back games (doctor’s orders), and much more is expected from Drummond in those matches.

He played 16 minutes yesterday, and logged 8 rebounds. He has three games with 10 or more rebounds this season, two of those came in the second of back-to-back games. Drummond was once a rebounding machine, and it started with the team that drafted him. As it happens the team that drafted him is his opponent tonight, the Detroit Pistons. In his first six seasons with the team his lowest rebounding average was 13.5, and that was his rookie season.

The Pistons have a rotation of good centers, but Drummond is a stronger force than Jalen Duren. Isaiah is banged up, and he’s bigger than Paul Reed. Look for Drummond to get double digit rebounds tonight against his former team. Put a unit on this best bet today.
