Today's MLB DFS main slate on DraftKings and FanDuel consists of 12 games starting at 7:05 pm ET. While there are plenty of games on the slate the player pool for tonight's slate has us focusing in on a few MLB DFS stacks while we look to spend up for top pitching like Mets starter Kodai Senga in his matchup against the Athletics. Be sure to check in with our MLB DFS Tools, with the daily MLB projections, MLB DFS Ownership projections, and our MLB DFS Lineup Generator when building those lineups today!

MLB Weather Updates

Cleveland Guardians vs Washington Nationals

Some potential rain around game time but reports are that the game shouldn't be impacted all that much.  Slight winds blowing out.

DFS Lineup Construction Thoughts

Big slate but pitching is pretty top heavy and that is where I think most of our salary will go this evening. Because the pitching isn't as strong there are quite a few stacks that can be made and there is plenty of value, especially in the outfield, that will allow for us to pay up for a few of the top priced hitters as well. Stacking is part of the game when it comes to our lineup builds but that doesn't always mean a full four person team stack either.  I'll be looking to pair a few mini-stacks in my core lineups here tonight so I can get exposure to a handful of these favorable matchups.

Favorite Starters to Use for DFS Lineups

Kodai Senga, New York Mets

No shocker here, right? Senga is the top priced pitcher with the best odds for a victory in his matchup against the A's. Senga has faced the Marlins in both his starts this season but dominated them, allowing just one run over 11.1 innings while striking out 14. He is going to be massive chalk tonight but when it comes to the “good chalk” vs “bad chalk” conversations he falls into the “good chalk” category.

Charlie Morton, Atlanta Braves

I'm looking for two things with my starters and that is win equity and strikeout potential, both things that Charlie Morton brings to the table. The Braves are -130 favorites tonight on the moneyline and Morton's strikeout line sits at -125 on the over 5.5 strikeouts. The Royals have a 25.1% strikeout rate against RHP this season while hitting just .202 with an OPS of .587.

Tyler Wells, Baltimore Orioles

There is not a lot of value pitching out there today but I'm willing to throw a dart here on Wells against the White Sox here tonight. Wells entered in relief against the Rangers in his first appearance and tossed five no-hit innings. He then made his first start and went six innings against the Yankees, allowing four runs, two home runs, while striking out six. The White Sox lineup  hasn't been looking all the great, with Luis Robert being the only real threat and a returning Eloy Jimenez in that lineup given the injuries Chicago is dealing with.

Favorite Hitters to Use for DFS Lineups

Julio Rodriguez, OF Seattle Mariners

He made the cover of the playbook for a reason and that reason is the matchup tonight against Rockies starter Austin Gomber. Gomber last season was actually WORSE away from Coors Field and through two starts this season righties are tuning him up, posting a .903 OPS against him. Last season was more of the same as right-handed hitters finished the year batting .303 with an OPS of .882 off Gomber.

Vaughn Grissom, SS Atlanta Braves

It was a surprise to many during Spring Training when news broke that Grissom was going to begin the year in Triple-A with Orlando Arcia winning the starting shortstop gig for the Braves. Arcia was off to a great start but has landed on the injured list which has paved the way for Grissom to get called up to the team. At Triple-A, Grissom was raking, hitting .366 with a home run and two stolen bases. On a big slate we are always looking for some nice value plays and Grissom fits the bill.

Brandon Nimmo, OF New York Mets

Everyone is getting their hacks in on  James Kaprielian this season as the A's righty has allowed 12 runs on 14 hits over 9.2 innings to begin the season. Lefties this season are hitting .360 with three home runs and an OPS of 1.288. Nimmo is a great price to fit in Mets stacks today and he is coming off a three-hit outing. Nimmo offers some nice run scoring and stolen base upside in this spot if he can get on base today..

Anthony Rizzo, 1B New York Yankees

Rizzo hit two home runs yesterday and boosted his average to .326 on the season. We love Rizzo at home thanks to the short right field and that has paid off so far this season with Rizzo hitting .400 with all three of his home runs coming in Yankee Stadium this season. The Twins are calling up Louie Varland from Triple-A to make the start here this evening.
