MLB Weather Today, 9/9

Guardians vs Orioles - It's warm with winds blowing out 10+ MPH. The bats are definitely getting a bump here.

Angels vs Red Sox - There is a chance that a delay happens but when the game plays/resumes there are 10-15 MPH winds blowing out.

Diamondbacks vs Royals - There's a possibility in which storms linger around first pitch, which could delay the game.

MLB DFS Lineup Picks: Starting Pitchers

MLB DFS Top Pitchers

Cristopher Sanchez (PHI)

Analysis: This is the best pitcher on the slate against a Houston offense that has a wRC+ of 99 since the All-Star break against lefties. The Astros have struck out nearly 23% of the time to boot. Sanchez has put up 20+ DKP in five of his nine second-half starts and has topped 30 twice over that span, which is what we need at his price.

Yoshinobu Yamamoto (LAD)

Analysis: Nobody comes close to Yoshinobu Yamamoto's props on this slate. He has a slate best K O/U and win odds today. Yamamoto's strikeouts are on the rise putting up 8+ in four straight games and has 19+ DKP in five straight and seven of eight overall. Since the ASB, the Reds have a 94 wRC+ and have struck out 26.3% of the time vs. RHP.

Hunter Brown (HOU) 

Analysis: We've talked about it all year but Philly is not a good offense against right-handed pitching. They have a 90 wRC+ since the break and that's lower than it was in the first half of the year. Brown has looked really sharp and has generated 12.7% and 13.9% SwStr over the last two starts after posting <7% the three starts before and he's gone 6 IP, <2 ER & 7+ Ks in each of the two.

MLB DFS Value Pitchers

Jake Bennett (BOS)

Analysis: There are five teams since the All-Star break that have posted a wRC+ less than 80 against lefties and the Angels are one of them. They've been dreadful offensively all year but things really haven't gotten any better. They've struck out 24% of the time against southpaws, too. Bennett has three straight quality starts, 18+ DKP, and has four straight of six or more strikeouts.

Will Warren (NYY)

Analysis: It's been a mixed bag of results for Will Warren this year but this is undoubtedly a fantastic spot against the Rockies. Since the All-Star game, the Rockies have a 90 wRC+ with a 23.4% K-rate. When you look at the numbers on the road vs. RHP, it's an 89 wRC+, 24.8% K-rate, and a .677 OPS. Twice since July 31st Warren has put up at least 27 DKP.

Davis Martin (CWS)

Analysis: Pittsburgh used to be good against righties until they weren't. Since the break, they have the 25th ranked wRC+ of 85 along with a 24.6% K-rate. In Martin's first start back from the IL, he generated an 11.3% SwStr rate, which is up from his 10.4% seasonal average. The 80 pitches he threw should only go up too.

MLB DFS Top Hitters

Jackson Chourio (OF, MIL)

Analysis: Because of his pitch mix, Kevin Gausman continues to be reverse splits. He's allowed a .175 ISO to RHH this year & it's .239 over the last 30 days. Chourio has hit both splits, but he has posted a .191 ISO and .218 xISO vs. RHP and is on a heater right now.

Ben Rice (C/1B, NYY), Cody Bellinger (OF, NYY) & Luis Garcia Jr. (1B, NYY)

Analysis: Lefties have truly dominated Sugano this year. Absolutely dominated him. He's allowed a .301 ISO, .272 xISO, .378 wOBA, and .395 xwOBA. The Yankees lineup is littered with lefties and Rice, Bellinger, and Garcia all stand out here. Rice and Garcia have .280 ISOs or better vs. RHP and Cody Bellinger has an OPS 300 points better at home than on the road.

Shohei Ohtani (1B/OF, LAD), Max Muncy (3B, LAD) & Teoscar Hernandez (OF, LAD)

Analysis: Anyway you slice it, the Dodgers look really good today. They're tied for the highest-implied team total of the day (5.4) with the Yankees and aren't getting anywhere near the same ownership. Although Ohtani has struggled, we know what his ceiling is. Teoscar Hernandez has been one of the league's BEST hitters over the last 10 days & Max Muncy has mashed RHP all year long (.239 ISO, 20 HR).

Ketel Marte (2B, ARI) & Gabriel Moreno (C, ARI)

Analysis: In 20.2 IP as a starter, Daniel Lynch has pitched to a 6.97 ERA after pitching to a 1.96 ERA in 46 innings as a reliever. The strikeouts are down, the groundballs are down, the home runs are up, and he's simply been a BAD pitcher since entering the rotation. Insert Ketel Marte and his .283 ISO and .386 wOBA and Gabriel Moreno and his .191 xISO and .383 xwOBA vs. LHP.

Coby Mayo (1B/3B, BAL)

Analysis: Coby Mayo is elite against left-handed pitching. Absolutely elite. In 73 games this year, Mayo has 16 HR, .746 SLG%, 1.127 OPS, .425 ISO, and .472 wOBA. Those are INSANE numbers. As live as anyone to homer today.

MLB DFS Value Hitters

Nolan Arenado (3B, ARI) & Geraldo Perdomo (SS, ARI)

Analysis: Not only do Nolan Arenado and Geraldo Perdomo round out a DBacks stack because it'll be the top-four in their lineup when you include Marte and Moreno, but the matchup is elite. I like both guys under 4K.

Spencer Jones (OF, NYY)

Analysis: Lefties have 20 bombs and 2.44 HR/9 vs. Sugano this year and he has struck them out at a 14.3% clip. Jones is far too cheap and is absolutely dialed in at the dish right now. He'll be very popular and for good reason; he's an elite play at his price.

Adley Rutschman (C, BOS) & Trevor Story (SS, BOS)

Analysis: Adley Rutschman is rollin' right now and has been good against righties this year. He has a .220 ISO and .341 wOBA. Story should once again hit in the middle of the order and he's been really good since returning from the IL. Lefties have a .184 ISO and .339 wOBA and righties have a .202 ISO and .365 xwOBA.

Salvador Perez (1B, KC) & Michael Massey (2B, KC)

Analysis: The Royals look pretty good as Zac Gallen and Michael Soroka are both returning from injury and both of these dudes are raking. Since the All-Star game, Massey has been a .309 hitter with a 122 wRC+ and Perez is at 116 wRC+.
