2023 Player Outlook
2023 Recap: We only have a small sample size by which to evaluate Abreu’s fantasy potential but in 28 games he held his own with a .316/.388/.474 triple slash. His strikeout rate was a bit high (27.1) which should lead to batting average regression, but his OBP skills (.372) has been one of his strengths in his six-year minor league career. His 10.6 walk rate was a good indication that those skills transferred over to his big-league profile.
2024 Outlook: Abreu’s average exit velocity and hard-hit rate were both above the league norm and his power and speed profile make him potentially fantasy valuable across a full season. Just about all major projection models have Abreu logging well over 400 at bats this season.
