Welcome to Fantasy Alarm’s MLB DFS Playbook for Sunday, June 8th, covering the DraftKings and FanDuel main slates!Â
Our team of experts has poured over the matchups, stats, and trends to bring you a curated selection of top plays and value picks to help you build winning lineups.Â
Whether you’re chasing big GPP prizes or looking to cash in head-to-heads, we’ve got you covered with insights designed to give you an edge. Let’s dive into today’s slate and get ready to crush it!
Â
This season's MLB DFS picks and playbook will consist of a pitcher and hitter core players section with written analysis, player pool grid and core stacks section.
The core player section should be used as a starting point for all lineups, you may not be able to use all players in the same lineup, but those players should be the building blocks for you on a given night.
The player pool grid will feature both players from the core player section along with additional plays to help you build a complete lineup. The grid will be broken into top priced players, mid-priced players and value tier players.
The stacks section will bring you our favorite lineups stacks for the day and which players we would look to include in those stacks based on matchups and pricing.
There will also be a daily MLB DFS Show with a variety of hosts ranging from myself, Jon Impemba, Howard Bender, and James Grande. The MLB DFS Show will give you an initial outlook on the day's MLB DFS slate and should give you a good base for the start of your research each day!Â
Make sure you subscribe to the Fantasy Alarm YouTube channel so you never miss a show! Also, join the Fantasy Alarm Discord to get your DFS lineup questions answered by our MLB DFS team! MLB DFS Picks & MLB Playbook
MLB Weather: Sunday, 6/8
Philadelphia Phillies vs Pittsburgh Pirates
Rain in the area all afternoon, could just play through or delay and try to play tonight. Pay attention close to roster lock.
Texas Rangers vs Washington Nationals
Another game with rain in the area all afternoon. Could play wet or wait it out.

Recommended MLB DFS Starting Pitchers
Today's pitching is headlined by Paul Skenes who once again has a tough matchup as he takes on the Philadelphia Phillies with southpaw Cristopher Sanchez on the other side of the matchup. This slate has a handful of guys who tend to stack again which will make finding value fairly difficult for those DraftKings players. On FanDuel, needing only to pick one SP is a much easier decision.Â
Core MLB DFS Pitchers
Paul Skenes, Pittsburgh Pirates
The biggest issue with Skenes lately is the win equity. The Pirates just don't win that many baseball games. Skenes is 4-6 on the year with elite overall numbers. If you are spending as much money as it takes to roster Skenes the win points being there would be huge. That said, he's been elite, regardless of matchup, having not allowed more than one earned run in five straight starts.
Cristopher Sanchez, Philadelphia Phillies
On the other side of the Skenes matchup we have Cristopher Sanchez who is 5-1 on the season with a 3.02 ERA while having really boosted his strikeout upside this season, owning 74 Ks over 65.2 innings.
The Pirates are one of the worst teams in baseball against left-handed pitching, owning the 2nd highest strikeout rate at 28.1% while ranking 26th in average, 26th in ISO and 27th in wOBA.
Tanner Bibee, Cleveland Guardians
We are starting to get some good starts out of Bibee, especially in the strikeout department with the Guardians righty totaling 21 strikeouts over his last 18.1 innings while taking on the likes of the New York Yankees, Los Angeles Dodgers and Detroit Tigers. No small potatoes there.
For this start he faces an Astros offense that is starting to play a bit better, but most of their damage comes against left-handed pitching.
If Bibee's form holds true, this is a good value play on this slate where few true value options exist.
Tylor Megill, New York Mets (FanDuel Only)
FanDuel is including the Mets vs Rockies game on their main slate which means we have the pleasure of starting Megill in an elite matchup at a pretty elite price point for FanDuel players at just $8,900.
Megill has elite strikeout upside and while he hasn't often pitched deep into games this season, this would certainly be a matchup that may allow for him to get those quality start points.
Â
Recommended MLB DFS Hitters
With there only being a handful of pitchers that I'm actually favored towards on this slate there are plenty of offenses and player matchups that I'm looking to take advantage of here this afternoon, notably with the Reds and Elly De La Cruz taking on the struggling Zac Gallen.
Core MLB DFS Hitters
Elly De La Cruz + Cincinnati Reds
Gallen crushed DFS players in his last outing, tossing seven innings of one run baseball against the Braves when everyone stacked against him following a stretch of starts which saw him allow 19 earned runs 21.1 innings.
Great American Ballpark as we know is a major boost to offense and the Reds, with Elly De La Cruz have a ton of upside in this specific matchup given the Gallen struggles.
Happy Bowden Francis Day
If you know our DFS Show then you know we don't often need a reason to play Twins but boy do we have a reason to play Twins today.
Bowden Francis has been one of our favorite punching bags this season due to his horrific numbers against left-handed hitters with him allowing a .294 average with a .635 slugging percentage and a .419 wOBA.Â
Oh yeah….he's also allowing 3.6 HR/9 to left-handed hitters on the year.
We should be looking to get Matt Wallner, Trevor Larnach, Kody Clemens and Willi Castro in our lineups today.
Arizona Diamondbacks
Singer has actually been better at home this season than the road but that doesn't seem sustainable and the Diamondbacks offense has a lot of thump, especially if they get Corbin Carroll back in the starting lineup after he's rested the first two games of the series.
Stacking Carroll with Naylor, Marte, Suarez and Gurriel is a direction I'd look to go here.
Texas Rangers Left-Handed Hitters
I know, the Rangers offense has been REALLY bad but they get Trevor Williams today and lefties are hitting .368 with a .574 slugging percentage, .422 wOBA with Williams allowing 1.8 HR/9.Â
The problem? Well, the Rangers just aren't hitting. Corey Seager is slumping bad, Josh Smith has cooled off, Even Carter has one hit since returning from the IL and the same goes for Osuna.
What wins out? The bad pitcher who is getting torched by everyone or the bad offense that can't hit? I'm willing to bet on the talent of these hitters getting it going against the man on the mound throwing meatballs.Â
New York Mets - Coors Field (FanDuel Only)
FanDuel has the Mets vs Rockies finale on their slate so we have to at least mention that the Mets will be the most popular stack on the board today. The Rockies are sending Chase Dollander to the mound and the rookie hasn't had an overly pleasant experience pitching in his home ballpark this season. Load up on Mets and wait for the runs to be scored.
