This season's MLB DFS picks and playbook will consist of a pitcher and hitter core players section with written analysis, player pool grid and core stacks section.

The core player section should be used as a starting point for all lineups, you may not be able to use all players in the same lineup, but those players should be the building blocks for you on a given night.

The player pool grid will feature both players from the core player section along with additional plays to help you build a complete lineup. The grid will be broken into top priced players, mid-priced players and value tier players.

The stacks section will bring you are favorite lineups stacks for the day and which players we would look to include in those stacks based on matchups and pricing.

Recommended MLB DFS Starting Pitchers

We have an interesting slate in terms of pitching options.  There are a lot of talented pitchers with upside on today’s slate.  However, we do not have a long list of history when it comes to pitcher vs hitter matchups.  Feel free to get creative especially on DraftKings where you need to start 2 pitchers.

High-end options include Trevor Rogers, Jacob deGrom, Yoshinobu Yamamoto and Hurston Waldrep.  The mid-range include Yusei Kikuchi and Shane Baz.  Paydown options include Bryce Miller and Justin Verlander.

Core MLB DFS Pitchers

Hurston Waldrep, Atlanta Braves - DraftKings $9,700 | FanDuel $9,800

Waldrep is putting together a strong rookie campaign.  He enters Saturday with 1.01 ERA, 1.01 WHIP and 33 Ks in 35.2 IP.

Waldrep enters this matchup against the Seattle Mariners with almost no history against their hitters in the past.  He did not pitch against the Mariners during the 2024 season.  Look for Hurston Waldrep to continue his recent success again on Saturday.

Trevor Rogers, Baltimore Orioles - DraftKings $9,800 | FanDuel $10,500

Rogers has posted 10 straight quality starts.  He enters Saturday with 1.39 ERA, 0.82 WHIP and 81 Ks in 90.1 IP.  

Rogers enters this matchup against the Los Angeles Dodgers with decent but limited history against their hitters in the past.  He did not pitch against the Dodgers during the 2024 season.  Look for Trevor Rogers to continue his success against the Dodgers today.

Yusei Kikuchi, Los Angeles Angels - DraftKings $7,700 | FanDuel $8,700

Kikuchi has been more hit or miss as of late.  However, he draws a favorable matchup today.  He enters Saturday with 3.83 ERA, 1.44 WHIP and 162 Ks in 159.2 IP.

Kikuchi enters this matchup against the Sacramento Athletics with good history against their hitters in the past.  He has two starts against the Athletics during the 2025 season.  He put up 9 and 47 FanDuel points and 2.2 and 29.3 DraftKings points in those starts.  He did not pitch against the Athletics during the 2024 season.  Look for Yusei Kikuchi to continue his success against the Athletics on Saturday.

Lucas Giolito, Boston Red Sox - DraftKings $8,500 | FanDuel $9,100

Giolito has posted a quality start in 5 of his last 7 starts.  He enters Saturday with 3.38 ERA, 1.23 WHIP and 105 Ks in 125.1 IP.  

Giolito enters this matchup against the Arizona Diamondbacks with good but very limited history against their hitters in the past.  He did not pitch against the Diamondbacks during the 2024 season.  Look for Lucas Giolito to continue his recent success again today.

 

 

Recommended MLB DFS Hitters

It is looking like a slate that will be more favorable for pitchers today.  We have less in terms of hitter vs pitcher history as well.  Feel free to mix and match your hitters across multiple lineups.

San Diego Padres, Boston Red Sox, San Francisco Giants and Los Angeles Angels should be the front runners in terms of top teams to stack.

Core MLB DFS Hitters

Nathaniel Lowe, Boston Red Sox - DraftKings $4,100 | FanDuel $2,700 

Lowe has been solid since joining the Red Sox.  He has at least one hit in 3 of his last 4 games started.  He has 2 multi hit games and 1 HR during this stretch. 

Lowe has good history in the past against expected Arizona Diamondbacks starting pitcher Brandon Pfaadt.  He is 5 for 9 with 1 HR against Pfaadt in his career.  Look for another strong performance out of Nathaniel Lowe and the Boston Red Sox lineup on Saturday.

Rafael Devers, San Francisco Giants - DraftKings $5,400 | FanDuel $3,900 

Devers has been on fire as of late.  He is currently on a 5 game hitting streak.  He has 3 multi hit games and 4 HRs during this time span. 

Devers has good history in the past against St. Louis Cardinals expected starting pitcher Andre Pallante.  He is 2 for 6 with 1 HR against Pallante in his career.  Rafael Devers looks like a solid one-of play or key piece of a San Francisco Giants stack for today’s slate.

Junior Caminero, Tampa Bay Rays - DraftKings $4,800 | FanDuel $3,800 

Caminero has put together an impressive season.  He is currently on a 5 game hitting streak.  He has 3 multi hit games and 2 HRs during that time span.

Caminero has good history against Tanner Bibee, the expected starting pitcher for the Cleveland Guardians.  He is 3 for 6 with 1 HR against Bibee in his career.  Look for another strong performance out of Junior Caminero on Saturday.

Heliot Ramos, San Francisco Giants - DraftKings $4,600 | FanDuel $3,400 

Ramos has been solid as of late.  He is currently on a 6 game hitting streak.   He has 3 multi hit games and 0 HRs during this stretch.

Ramos has good history against St. Louis Cardinals expected starting pitcher Andre Pallante.  He is 2 for 6 with 1 HR against Pallante in his career.  Heliot Ramos looks like a solid one-of play or key piece of a San Francisco Giants stack for today’s slate.
