This season's MLB DFS picks and playbook will consist of a pitcher and hitter core players section with written analysis, player pool grid and core stacks section.

The core player section should be used as a starting point for all lineups, you may not be able to use all players in the same lineup, but those players should be the building blocks for you on a given night.

The player pool grid will feature both players from the core player section along with additional plays to help you build a complete lineup. The grid will be broken into top priced players, mid-priced players and value tier players.

The stacks section will bring you are favorite lineups stacks for the day and which players we would look to include in those stacks based on matchups and pricing.

Recommended MLB DFS Starting Pitchers

We have an interesting slate in terms of pitching options.  There is a good mix of aces and inexperienced pitchers on today’s slate.  Feel free to get creative especially on DraftKings where you need to start 2 pitchers.

High-end options include Tarik Skubal, Zack Wheeler and Brandon Woodruff.  The mid-range include Merrill Kelly, Luis Castillo and Kodai Senga.  Paydown options include Eury Perez, Cam Schlittler and Tanner Bibee.

Core MLB DFS Pitchers

Tarik Skubal, Detroit Tigers - DraftKings $11,700 | FanDuel $10,800

Skubal is putting together another Cy Young caliber season.  He enters Saturday with 2.09 ERA, 0.84 WHIP and 171 Ks in 133.2 IP.

Skubal enters this matchup against the Philadelphia Phillies with good but limited history against their hitters in the past.  He had one start against the Phillies during the 2024 season.  He put up 52 FanDuel points and 30.8 DraftKings points.  Look for Tarik Skubal to continue his success against the Phillies today.

Zack Wheeler, Philadelphia Phillies - DraftKings $10,700 | FanDuel $10,600

Wheeler is having arguably the best season of his career.  He enters Saturday with 2.56 ERA, 0.89 WHIP and 172 Ks in 133.2 IP.  

Wheeler enters this matchup against the Detroit Tigers with good history against their hitters in the past.  He did not pitch against the Tigers during the 2024 season.  Look for Zack Wheeler to continue his dominant season on Saturday.

Tanner Bibee, Cleveland Guardians - DraftKings $7,500 | FanDuel $8,600

Bibee has been hit or miss throughout the 2025 season.  However, he draws an attractive matchup today.  He enters Saturday with 4.39 ERA, 1.22 WHIP and 107 Ks in 121 IP.

Bibee enters this matchup against the Minnesota Twins with good history against their hitters in the past.  He already has one start against the Twins in 2025.  He put up 37 FanDuel points and 20.8 DraftKings points.  He had four starts against the Twins during the 2024 season.  He put up 33, 35, 46 and 46 FanDuel points and 16.8, 21.2, 26.8 and 28.4 DraftKings points in those starts.  Look for Tanner Bibee to continue his success against the Twins today.

Brandon Woodruff, Milwaukee Brewers - DraftKings $10,200 | FanDuel $10,200

Woodruff has looked like his old self through 4 starts.  He enters Saturday with 2.01 ERA, 0.72 WHIP and 29 Ks in 22.1 IP.  

Woodruff enters this matchup against the Washington Nationals with decent history against their hitters in the past.  He has one start against the Nationals in 2025.  He put up 37 FanDuel points and 22.8 DraftKings points.  He did not pitch against the Nationals during the 2024 season.  Look for Brandon Woodruff to continue his success against the Nationals on Saturday.

 

 

Recommended MLB DFS Hitters

It is an interesting slate for hitters on Saturday.  We have a handful of aces pitching which will be matchups to avoid.  However, we can take advantage of some of the more inexperienced pitchers on today’s slate.  Feel free to mix and match your hitters across multiple lineups.

New York Mets, Houston Astros, Milwaukee Brewers and Boston Red Sox should be the front runners in terms of top teams to stack.

Core MLB DFS Hitters

Carlos Correa, Houston Astros - DraftKings $3,500 | FanDuel $2,700 

Correa has returned home to the Houston Astros. He has at least one hit in 6 of his last 7 games.  He has 1 multi hit game and 0 HRs during this stretch.

Correa has good history in the past against expected Red Sox starting pitcher Walker Buehler.  He is 2 for 5 with 1 HR against Buehler in his career.  Look for another strong performance out of Carlos Correa and the Houston Astros lineup on Saturday.

William Contreras, Milwaukee Brewers - DraftKings $3,900 | FanDuel $3,100 

Contreras has been heating up lately.  He is currently on a 4 game hitting streak.  He has 4 multi hit games and 3 HRs during this time span. 

Contreras has good history in the past against Nationals expected starting pitcher Jake Irvin.  He is 4 for 12 with 2 HRs vs Irvin in his career.  William Contreras looks like a solid one-of play or key piece of a Milwaukee Brewers stack for today’s slate.

Cedric Mullins, New York Mets - DraftKings $3,500 | FanDuel $3,200

Mullins had been on a tear prior to moving to the Mets.  He has at least one hit in 6 of his last 7 games started.  He has 4 multi hit games and 2 HRs during that time span.

Mullins has no history against Kai-Wei Teng, the expected starting pitcher for the San Francisco Giants.  Look for another strong performance out of Cedric Mullins and the New York Mets lineup on Saturday.

Jesus Sanchez, Houston Astros - DraftKings $3,700 | FanDuel $3,200 

Sanchez should benefit from a change of scenery.  He has at least one hit in 6 of his last 9 games.  He has 3 multi hit games and 2 HRs during this stretch.

Sanchez has good history against expected Red Sox starting pitcher Walker Buehler.  He is 2 for 3 against Buehler in his career.  Jesus Sanchez looks like a solid one-of play or key piece of a Houston Astros stack for today’s slate.
