MLB DFS Lineup Picks: Starting Pitchers

MLB DFS Top Pitchers

Chris Sale (ATL)

Analysis: Sale has put together some of the best years of his decorated career in a Braves uniform, and this season is no different. The lefty has been dominant, with a 2.10 ERA and a 29.6% strikeout rate. He draws a matchup with a Mets team that owns a below-average 94 wRC+ and 22.4% strikeout rate against left-handed pitching.

Yoshinobu Yamamoto (LAD)

Analysis: Yamamoto was disappointing from a fantasy perspective in this matchup his last time out. He pitched well, allowing just two runs in six innings, but he also struck out just four. He'll get another crack at a below-average Padres offense that whiffs at a 23.1% clip against righties.

Parker Messick (CLE)

Analysis: Messick dominated the same White Sox team he faces tonight just two starts ago. In that outing, the lefty allowed just two runs in 7.2 innings while racking up 10 strikeouts. It has been a brilliant season for the youngster, as he owns a sparkling 2.85 ERA and above-average rates across the board.

MLB DFS Value Pitchers

Jesus Luzardo (PHI)

Analysis: Luzardo is putting together an impressive campaign that is even better than his 3.88 ERA suggests. He owns an excellent 28% strikeout rate and 49.6% groundball rate that help him work efficiently. Every ERA estimator has him at least half a run better, so he should continue to post positive results. He draws a plus matchup with a Royals team that has managed just a 91 wRC+ against lefties this season.

Hunter Greene (CIN)

Analysis: It has been a long wait, but Greene will finally make his 2026 season debut. He threw 82 pitches in his final rehab outing, so he should be close to full strength here, but that doesn't mean the Reds won't be cautious with the pitch count. The upside is massive against an Orioles team that strikes out at the third-highest rate against righties.

Sonny Gray (BOS)

Analysis: Gray is rightfully projected to be the highest-owned pitcher on the slate, and there are no holes to poke in the play. He is too cheap for an extremely high-upside matchup with an Angels team that strikes out at the second-highest rate in baseball. The righty is also in elite form, racking up 20 strikeouts in his last two outings across 14.1 innings.

Sean Burke (CWS)

Analysis: Burke has been on quite the impressive run, falling just short of his third consecutive quality start by just two outs in his last appearance. The righty has also racked up strikeouts at an impressive rate, recording at least six of them in each of his last seven starts. Tonight, he draws a plus matchup against a Guardians team that has struggled to a 95 wRC+ against right-handed pitching and remains without their best hitter.

MLB DFS Lineup Picks: Stacks & Hitters

MLB DFS Top Hitters

Liam Hicks (C/1B, MIA) & Kyle Stowers (1B/OF, MIA)

Analysis: The Marlins put up 10+ runs for the third time in five games last night, and these two were big contributors. Stowers had a massive game with two home runs, while Hicks was on base three times and scored three runs. They get another elite spot tonight in Sutter Health Park against Civale.

Heliot Ramos (OF, SF) & Casey Schmitt (SS/OF, SF)

Analysis: The Giants got spanked in Coors Field last night by a score of 15-3. They will look to flip the script tonight. Sugano was scratched, and the Rockies will turn to the lefty Sullivan, which vaults these two righties to the top of the list. Ramos has made a career of mashing lefties, posting a robust .223 ISO. Schmitt hasn't flashed as much power, but he owns an impressive .368 wOBA against lefties this season and is an easy fit in a Giants stack with his multi-position eligibility.

Willson Contreras (1B, BOS) & Ceddanne Rafaela (OF, BOS)

Analysis: These Beantown sluggers both have an ISO above .250 against left-handed pitching this season. They draw a matchup against a lefty with a 15% strikeout rate who has allowed .168 xISO to righties.

MLB DFS Value Hitters

Griffin Conine (OF, MIA) & Owen Caissie (OF, MIA)

Analysis: Two value options in an elite hitter's park facing a pitcher who has an 11.9% strikeout rate and .259 ISO allowed to left-handed hitters this season. Conine has smashed righties for a .286 ISO, and Caissie isn't far behind at .222 ISO.

Caleb Durbin (3B, BOS), Romy Gonzalez (1B/2B, BOS), & Nate Eaton (OF, BOS)

Analysis: A trio of Boston righties who are squaring off against an inexperienced lefty with a 5.59 career ERA. Eaton is the cheapest of the bunch and should grab the leadoff spot in the order. Durbin has been hitting everything in sight since revamping his swing last month. He posted a 160 wRC+ in June and has even better so far in July. Gonzalez recently returned from the Injured List, but he mashed lefties for a .269 ISO last season.

Victor Bericoto (OF, SF)

Analysis: A powerful value option in Coors Field facing a lefty who owns just an 11.7% strikeout rate against righties and has allowed a .294 ISO to them. Bericoto has already clubbed four home runs in just 44 plate appearances.
