MLB Injury Report Update Ahead of This Weekend's Games

Corey Seager and Quinn Priester headline this week’s fantasy baseball injury report, but you’ll also find key updates on the imminent returns for Chris Sale, Jackson Chourio, and Victor Scott. Fantasy baseball managers scouring the waiver wire for saves should be looking at Abner Uribe and Ryan Walker, as injuries in the Milwaukee and San Francisco bullpens have pushed these guys into ninth-inning roles. MLB Week 22 Injury Report Update: Pitchers

Quinn Priester, Milwaukee Brewers - Wrist

Priester was scratched from his stat with a wrist issue, but he’s scheduled to be the team’s starter on Saturday against the Toronto Blue Jays.

Chris Sale, Atlanta Braves - Rib

Sale should return to the rotation this weekend, and Roster Resource has him listed as the Saturday starter for the Braves against the Philadelphia Phillies.

Trevor Megill, Milwaukee Brewers – Flexor Tendon

Megill was placed on the injured list with flexor tendon strain, and while he’s out, expect Abner Uribe to slide right into the ninth-inning role.

Roki Sasaki, Los Angeles Dodgers - Shoulder

In what seems to be typical Sasaki fashion, he needed 75 pitches to record 11 outs, though he did only walk two batters while recording four strikeouts.

Randy Rodriguez, San Francisco Giants - Elbow

Rodriguez is dealing with a right elbow strain, and the Giants placed him on the injured list. Ryan Walker figures to see the majority of the save chances while Rodriguez is on the shelf.

Jameson Taillon, Chicago Cubs - Groin

A groin issue will send Taillon to the injured list.

Jacob Lopez, Athletics - Forearm

Lopez has been on a nice roll, but he was placed on the injured list earlier this week with a Grade 1 flexor strain in his left forearm.

Richard Fitts, Boston Red Sox - Arm

Fitts is dealing with right arm neuritis, and Boston subsequently placed him on the injured list. Payton Tolle has the chance to stick in the team’s rotation while Fitts is unavailable.

MLB Week 22 Injury Report Update: Hitters

Corey Seager, Texas Rangers - Appendix

Seager is set to miss several weeks due to having to undergo an appendectomy. Josh Smith likely gets some action at shortstop, as well as Ezequiel Duran.

Francisco Alvarez, New York Mets - Hand/Finger

When it rains, it pours, that’s what they say, right? Alvarez suffered a broken pinky after being hit by a pitch while on a rehab assignment for his sprained thumb.

Luis Robert, Chicago White Sox - Hamstring

Robert’s 2025 season could be over after he was placed on the injured list with a Grade 2 hamstring strain.

Victor Scott, St. Louis Cardinals - Ankle

Scott is beginning a rehab assignment, and a return to the big league squad figures to happen early next week.

Jackson Chourio, Milwaukee Brewers - Hamstring

Chourio should rejoin the big league club during this weekend’s series against the Toronto Blue Jays.

Max Muncy, Los Angeles Dodgers - Oblique

Around the 0:45 mark in this video, Muncy says that we’re “getting close,” so his return to the lineup seems imminent.
