When it comes to defenses, there are quite a few things to like. If you have a defense as exceptional as Denver, Seattle or Minnesota, you’re going to start them every week. On the other hand, it’s excellent matchups that put other defenses on the radar. Baltimore and New England are worthy of much consideration, seeing as Landry Jones and Geno Smith are under center for Pittsburgh and New York respectively. When it comes to team defenses, if you have one of these five, you’re set for this weekend. If for some reason one of these five are available in your league, go snatch them up immediately.

Here are the top 5 defenses for Week 7 of the NFL season.

Denver DST vs. HOU

In Brock Osweiler’s first matchup against Denver, feel confident firing the Denver DST as a top defense this week. The Houston offense has a tendency to sputter and Osweiler is prone to throw multiple interceptions this week. Denver is a top defense this week.

Minnesota DST @ PHI

This is one of the best defenses in football and they get to go up against a rookie quarterback in Week 7. The Vikings have scored a touchdown or forced three turnovers in every game but one this season, which makes them a top defense in Week 7.

New England DST @ PIT

No Ben Roethlisberger means Landry Jones is under center, which makes this defense one of the better options in Week 7. The Patriots have a way of confusing opposing offenses so as long as they can contain Le’Veon Bell, this defense has an excellent chance to exceed value.

Seattle DST @ ARI

Palmer hasn’t thrown an interception since before being injured, but even against a bad Jets secondary, he was underwhelming. If Seattle can stuff David Johnson and keep him contained, Arizona will have a hard time moving the football against an excellent Seattle secondary. Start them this week.

Buffalo DST @ MIA

Ryan Tannehill isn’t good and don’t expect Jay Ajayi to replicate last week’s numbers. Miami will likely struggle to move the ball against Buffalo. Tannehill is good for at least one turnover in this one, so Buffalo will find themselves among the top defenses in Week 7.
