🏒 MLB Picks, Predictions & Best Bets Today, 4/6

Perhaps the most polarizing series of the weekend was that of Astros vs. Athletics, as we saw 11-4 and 12-10 wins for the A’s and the complete opposite end of the spectrum with Houston winning the other game 11-0. As it turns out, one of those teams is going to make the cut for our MLB best bets today.

Of course, that’s only going to be part of our MLB expert picks, and we have a relatively larger Monday slate to enjoy. Naturally, the Chicago Cubs tee things off, which was also the team that had yesterday’s doubleheader. Shortly thereafter, we see that we’ve got a coast-to-coast matchup of Padres vs. Pirates.

We lean towards Pittsburgh at home here, and speaking of which, let’s stick with Pennsylvania for another option to lock in some MLB picks. In that regard, we’re looking late with the Philadelphia Phillies also going across the country and taking down the San Francisco Giants. Those are just some leans, but let’s fully dive into our MLB best bets today.
 

 

 

🔥 Astros & Braves Best Bet: Houston & Atlanta ML Parlay (+145 at Novig)

Of that aforementioned Astros vs. A’s game, as you can see, it’s Houston that’s on our radar today. They have the luxury of continuing their offensive explosions by heading to Coors Field to take on the Colorado Rockies, hence being one of our favorite MLB predictions. They’ll be facing Ryan Feltner on the bump.

Houston’s got the #1 OPS versus right-handers thus far, and as for the Braves, they’re going to have lefty ace Chris Sale toeing the rubber. He’ll be doing so against the Los Angeles Angels - a team that not a ton of fans expect much from this season. It’s a small sample size, but with LA’s 29th-ranked OPS vs. lefties, an Astros/Braves ML parlay (+145 at Novig) is part of our MLB best bets today.

🔥 Mariners vs. Rangers Best Bet: Under 7.5 Runs (-112 at Novig)

We’re going to leave Houston but not go far, as we’re targeting an AL West rivalry, and it’s also in Texas. With a starting pitcher matchup of Logan Gilbert vs. Jacob deGrom, the addition to our MLB best bets today shouldn’t come as a huge surprise. Both teams would like to get back to a .500 record, but we aren’t worried about a winner.

Gilbert’s had 7+ K’s in five straight against Texas and hasn’t recorded a loss at the hands of the Rangers in ANY of his last seven outings. His start to 2026 certainly hasn’t been perfect, but Texas was also held to just a single run across the past two games at home against the Cincinnati Reds.

Of course, deGrom isn’t in his prime, but fading that guy has virtually never been a strong pick. So, we’re rooting against fireworks with our MLB best bets today by taking Mariners vs. Rangers under 7.5 runs (-112 at Novig).
