2023 Player Outlook

2023 Recap: Henderson probably ended up on fantasy league waiver wires after he posted a 31.2% K rate and got off to a slow start by slashing .201/.328/.384 in his first 52 games. He eventually found his groove, smacking 22 of his 28 home runs in his final 98 games of the season, and he also batted .277 with an .855 OPS during that time span. Henderson became more aggressive at the plate, swinging the bat more, (even if the ball was off the plate) but his aggressiveness paid off as he made significant gains in his overall contact rate and also managed to cut down on his strikeout rate by just over eight percent.

2024 Outlook: He’s got good power and OBP skills and will likely play every day this season, but left-handed pitchers are his kryptonite (.210 BAA, .618 OPS last season) and they always have been, even in his minor league career. The O’s may opt to sit him against tough southpaws and if they don’t his inability to hit lefty pitching could cap his overall batting average.
