The very first game of the day is a rare coast-to-coast matchup of Dodgers vs. Nationals, but is that type of lopsided affair worthy of some MLB picks?

Similarly, we’ve also got another cross-country clash with Red Sox vs. Padres, but Boston’s 1-5 start to the season leaves even less to be desired than San Diego’s 2-4 start. While the A’s have also started 1-5, divisional rivalries always add an extra element for locking in MLB predictions, and they’ve got the Houston Astros today.

That said, both lineups have plenty of bats that can lay the wood. The pitching matchup isn’t as juicy on paper with Michael King vs. Sonny Gray, but the Padres have several guys with great matchups vs. King. Those include the likes of Manny Machado, Xander Bogaerts, and even Nick Castellanos.
