We have a full slate of day games on Wednesday so let’s get our MLB Best Bets and Prop Bets in for today, April 3, nice and early!

We had a nice day of MLB betting yesterday and are ready to build off that momentum. While we, like most of the Houston Astros and Toronto Blue Jays batters, whiffed on the scoring in that game, we hit a pair of strikeout props for Brayan Bello and Shane Bieber. We then enjoyed the nightcap as the Los Angeles Dodgers scored another five runs to push that team total over 4.5 while doing some damage to the ERA of Giants starter Logan Webb, who we tabbed for more than 2.5 runs.

We’ll look to carry that through with our bets today and completely eradicate any memory of this past weekend. We’ve begun this week with profit and we’re ready to keep it going with our favorite MLB best bets for today!

Yesterday’s Record: 4-2

Season Record: 15-15

Bankroll: -1.35 units

MLB Best Bets & Prop Bets For Today: Wednesday, April 3

Guardians vs. Mariners Prediction Today, 4/3

While the Mariners have a 3-3 record to open the season, their offense has really been tripped up a ton. They have the second-lowest team WOBA sitting at just .255 and they are striking out at an alarming 31.4-percent. People have been hammering the pitcher strikeout props against them and rightfully so. We did it just yesterday with Shane Bieber

However, when you look at the lefty/righty splits for their hitters, we get a different story. Granted, this season doesn’t have a huge sample size, but not only have the Mariners struck out fewer than 20-percent of the time against lefties they’ve faced this year, their strikeout numbers dating back to last season against southpaws is also significantly lower.

Guardians lefty Logan Allen struggled in his first start which came against a soft-hitting Oakland team and traditionally, has pitched to more contact. Not only do I think the Mariners bats wake up in the early part of this game, but then I’ve also got George Kirby on the bump to help keep things moving along quickly through these first few innings.

We’ll back the Mariners bats against a lefty and see if we can’t dip into some plus-odds going against Allen’s potential lack of strikeouts.

Yankees vs. Diamondbacks Prediction Today, 4/3

Don’t tell my fellow Yankees fans, but I am just not a fan of Carlos Rodon. Sure, he’s not too far removed from some amazing seasons in 2021 and 2022, but the injuries and the poor command we’ve seen from him make me scratch my head at how much of an underdog Arizona is today.

Rodon may not have given up more than one run in his first start against Houston, but he allowed five hits and three walks through just 4.1 innings and Arizona is not going to let him get away with it. The Diamondbacks are locked in against southpaws right now, punishing them with a .438 wOBA and a .192 ISO, and while it might take a couple of times through the order for Arizona to best Rodon, I think they get to him eventually.

Arizona is also throwing notorious innings-eater Merrill Kelly who looked incredibly sharp in his season-debut, punching out eight over 6.2 innings. Granted, it was the Rockies, but it’s not like the Yankees are out there punishing righthanded pitchers either, with just a .325 wOBA and a 21.5-percent strikeout rate.

Kelly won’t shut them down, but I do think he holds off the Yankees offense enough to let the Diamondbacks win this game.
