Favorite Bets: 

Christian Yelich, Milwaukee Brewers (+268) – Yelich has been white-hot lately and is still batting in the leadoff spot for Milwaukee, so we’ll lean on him as the primary table-setter. I wouldn’t be against leaning on Brice Turang at +267 either, but if I’m making the actual bet, I’ll use Yelich as the leadoff guy, even though Rockies starter Ruan Feltner has some reverse splits this year showing he is weaker against right-handed hitters. But if you look at his career numbers, he stinks against lefties and righties equally. If we want a little tiebreaker here, Yelich is actually batting .417 with five hits in 12 at-bats against Feltner, so there’s that. There’s also the fact that the Rockies catchers have combined for a very soft 19-percent caught-stealing rate. You can tell by the odds above that the Brewers are expected to be running. We’ll take their top veteran with his 100-percent success rate and hot bat over the last several games.

Xavier Edwards, Miami Marlins (+328) – As much as I love Rays right-hander Drew Rasmussen, we have to attack him on the bases today. He’s allowed 13 stolen bases this season, the highest on the slate today, and Rays catchers Nick Fortes and Hunter Feduccia have a combined caught-stealing rate of just 16.9-percent on a total of 59 attempts. No matter who’s behind the dish, we’re going to use this pick. It also helps that Edwards has a .372 wOBA with a .396 OBP and a 13-percent walk rate when facing a righty from the left side of the plate. Rasmussen is allowing left-handed hitters to post a .329 wOBA against him, so expect to see Edwards running around out there today.
