🔥 Best Matchups for Home Runs Today, 6/26: Ballpark Factors & Weather Impact

We hooked you up with bonus MLB home run picks yesterday because there was a chance of a postponement. So, with that in mind, you’ll always want to start with our MLB weather report. As for other metrics that we’ve analyzed for you so that you don’t have to do any work, some of the most prevalent are lefty/righty splits and, surprisingly enough, pitch types. Of course, those only scratch the surface in terms of what you’ll see as we fully break down our best MLB home run predictions below.

Kyle Schwarber (+309)

That’s right - the league leader is finally at a valuable price! As he goes for his 30th homer, Schwarber has had odds as low as the +170’s, which is just ridiculous and why we don’t generally target him with our MLB home run picks. That changes today with the lefty taking on a Mets lefty starter making his second-ever start.

Zach Thornton is NOT Zack Wheeler pitching for Philly today, and frankly, we hope he goes later than the 4.1 innings he pitched in his MLB debut. He gave up just one homer in that start, but Schwarber could hit two himself today. Not only does he speak for himself, but he also smashes Thornton’s primary pitch - the cutter.

Ok, it’s a small sample size against them this season, but we still have Kyle Schwarber hitting a HR (+309 at Novig) as part of our best MLB home run picks for today.

Byron Buxton (+267)

Interestingly enough, Schwarber doesn’t even have the shortest odds to homer tonight. One guy that has even shorter odds is one that we target seldomly, and that’s due to his homer-or-strikeout dichotomy. Thankfully, the matchup with Tomoyuki Sugano has us on the homer side of that, hence being part of our MLB home run picks.

While the game isn’t at Coors Field, the Colorado Rockies righty simply can’t miss bats. As he tries his best to implement way too many different pitches in his arsenal, he has an abysmal 13.7% K rate. That’s great news for the Twins leadoff man to put his ridiculous 19% barrel rate and 48.6% hard-hit rate on display.

Between our first two MLB home run picks, we can cash on the first pitch of two different games by adding Byron Buxton to hit a HR (+267 at DraftKings).

Ben Rice (+475)

We’d be remiss to omit the fact that Yordan Alvarez could certainly be on your card if you want the truly most likely HR guys. That said, let’s get more value in here by targeting the absolutely classic rivalry of Yankees vs. Red Sox. We’re getting such juicy odds for our MLB home run picks by going against the grain and targeting Boston lefty starter Payton Tolle.

We know that he can be lights out at times, but the young stud can also have his moments, and we only need one pitch to cash in. Given his high four-seamer velocities, hard-hit balls get out in a hurry, and we’re trusting the lefty vs. lefty matchup for a guy with 22 homers this year. Fenway Park is also friendlier to the longball than many fans usually expect.

Of course, it can also come later in the game against the bullpen, so we’re going to add to our best MLB home run picks for today with Ben Rice to hit a HR (+475 at BetMGM).

🚀 Longshot Home Run Picks Today

Don’t worry - there is always more value to be had! While we love the value for the guys above, there is always more to be had. For our diamond in the rough, here’s today’s MLB home run longshot pick…

Admittedly, we’ve targeted this Nationals hitter a couple of times in this spot, but he continues to have some of the most monster odds for a guy with eight homers. Warm and humid Baltimore should help him inch towards double digits, as should the Orioles bullpen, making Jacob Young our best MLB home run longshot pick for today!
